Can we use monorail if we're not staying on property?

We are not staying in a WDW resort. (We're getting a free stay elsewhere!) I'm wondering if we can use the monorail, bus, or anything else, or are those for resort guests only? Thanks!

If you have a multi day type ticket media (especially with park hopping), you are welcome to use Disney transportation.

But, they never check. And as long as you don't try to get on the resort monorail, you won't have a problem.

Unless it is very crowded they don't check on the resort monorail either. All you have to say is you are dining at one of the resort hotels and it won't be a problem.

if you are staying elsewhere but want to check out any of the resorts, especially the monorail resorts, get on the monorail. I have never been asked where I was staying when boarding a train.

We're having breakfast at 9:50 at Chef Mickeys. I'm just wondering what the best way to get there, would be. We're staying off property, and with a baby and a toddler, I'm thinking we'll NOT go to one of the parks after breakfast. We'll find something else to do for an hour or two before heading back to our hotel for a nap. So... heck... maybe we should just drive to the Contemporary? Then, if we wish, we could hop the monorail and go (somewhere) for an hour or two, then come back, get the car, and go back to our hotel?

My oh my. Why does it have to be this complicated? Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?

You can park at the Contemporary, I believe you are allowed to park for 3 hours.
Enjoy your breakfast at Chef Mickeys then take the monorail, take the resort loop, the other monorail goes directly to the MK..if you take the resort monorail it stops at the Poly, the GF, MK and then back to the CR...it may stop at the TTC after the CR, I'm not sure. But anyway, its a nice ride you can see the other resorts, go back to the CR for your car and then back to your hotel.
It would make for a nice morning.

Last trip (August 2005) We went to Poly for Dinner and we were stopped and sked where we were going. We had ressies. Also we parked at Y & BC and we walked up to EPCOT. When we went to Yand B Club they did ask where we were staying we said POR and they said yes, we could park there IF we were staying on site. But I have no idea how they could find this out as he didnt check anything. Just waved us through. Good Luck

They are pretty strict about parking at the monorail resorts. Be sure to bring your reservation (PDR) # with you. You will be given a 3 hour parking pass at the Contemporary. If you want to be away from your car longer than that then just park at the TTC and take the resort monorail from there.
