Can we take ME to the Contemporary if we are staying at Kidani?

We arrive next Saturday early, 9:00AM at MCO. Realizing it's far too early to check in, I snagged a brunch reservation at Chef Mickey's for 11:15AM that same morning. Will we be allowed to take the Magical Express (ME) to our non-resort hotel (Contemporary) for our Chef Mickey's reservation, or are we required to take the bus directly to our booked resort (AKL-Kidani)?

Based on what I know about the luggage, where we get off the bus shouldn't interfere with where the bags are dropped, as long as they are tagged to go to Kidani, right?

Thank you in advance!

Currently, no, you may not take Magical Express to a resort different from the one you are staying at.

This is true regardless of whether you have any checked DME baggage or not.

With this in mind, your plane arrival to your restaurant reservation is going to be a tight squeeze and you will be anxious.

If, per chance, the bus to your resort also stops at the resort you wanted to go to instead, nothing prevents you from gettting off at the "wrong" stop. Except there may be a hassle geting your carryons since those may be segregated in the baggage compartement underneath according to the correct resort.

If, somehow, you managed to get off at the "wrong" resort, that will not affect checked DME baggage getting to the correct resort.

I will say it is very unlikely that animal kingdom and contemporary will be on the same bus as they are different areas of the resort

1. it's not. You can check in as early as 6:00 am
2. Cancel it - you won't make it.
3. Nope
4. Yes.

Unfortunately no, you can only take Magical Express to the resort you have booked.

And I hate to say it, but I agree with Alesia that you won't make your ADR. Unless maybe there is a way you can split up, most of the family take a taxi to the Contemporary and one person take one for the team and ride ME and go to AKL to check in. But keep in mind if your plane lands late, or if you don't make it to your ADR you will be charged the $10 per person fee.

Everyone is spot on. If you arrive, on-time, at 9:00, you would expect to be at your resort by 10:30. You could just hop right on the MK bus and possibly make it for an 11:15 ADR, but I wouldn't count on it. You could, if you don't have any carry on bags of any size with you, hop off the DME bus at the first resort you stop at...then take their bus to MK and walk over to the CR. But, usually, the AKL/Kidani are the first stops. Or, take a cab from the resort, right to the CR.

Also, your arrival time would not be too early to check in. Your room may not be ready, but you can check in and leave your carry-ons with Bell Services.

Great to know. This is our first time staying on property in recent years. Will we be able to take advantage of all of the amenities of the resort after checking in, even if room is not ready? I.E. pool?

Thank you, everyone, for such helpful replies. I have gone ahead and cancelled the Chef Mickey's reservation - the last thing I want to do is start our vacation out on a hectic note. We have another reservation for CM later in our itinerary, so will not miss the opportunity to go there.

Another question - I current have a lunch reservation for Sanaa on the day of arrival - figured we would want to eat around lunchtime, but it's hard to tell whether we will be hungry by then. In your experience, can you walk into Sanaa for lunch, or are reservations required/highly recommended? I will keep the reservation for now, but I wish we had the flexibility to decide the day of (we don't, otherwise will pay the cancellation fee).

Thanks again!
Kate

Yep. As soon as you check in, you're a guest of that resort, and you can use all the amenities of that resort!! Same thing for your check-out day.....you're good to go until midnight of your check-out day.
