Our family will be @ WDW from June 22-July 2 - I know, one of the busiest times. We will be staying @ Shades of Green, and I've been planning our itinerary for over a year. Now it seems that I've been blindsided by the new FPP system. Since we must purchase our tickets upon arrival, I am not able to make advance FPP reservations, and I'm afraid it is going to be very difficult to obtain them the day we are in each park. My plan is to be at the parks at RD, take a midday break and return in the evening. Is this going to work out, or are we doomed to spend our days in one long line after another? Any insight and/or advice would be welcome.

Others are reporting they are able to pre-purchase their Military tickets and link the voucher number to MDE to pre-select their Fp+. If you choose not to do that, as soon as you get your tickets, link them to MDE and schedule Fp+ for everyday you plan to be in the parks.

I should preface this by saying that I am not an expert at FP+. But you shouldn't have to go without using the system at all. Once you have the tickets you can get FP+ at the kiosks in the park. There will be some that may be unavailable, but most should still be available (especially if you go to the kiosks early in the day. Also, I think once you have the tickets you can use MY Disney Experience to book FP+ from your phone for all the days of your trip (not sure on that part, someone correct me if that's wrong). My suggestion would be go at RD, ride a few rides with short lines, and book some FP+ for when the crowds will pick up a little. Then after those are used, go back to the kiosk to see what FP+ are still available and get those one at a time. Definitely doable.

I would try to be flexible with your schedule in terms of going back to the hotel and such. We had ours booked in advance but made some last minute changes and a lot of the times available were either very late in the evening or mid-day.

Thanks for the advice. I also read that someone purchased the Stars and Stripes tickets in advance and then linked them, but it's too late or me to do that. As soon as we arrive and purchase our tickets, I will do what I can.

According to www.militarydisneytips.com the Shades of Green is supposed to send you a ticket pre-order form 45 days before your stay. Once you pre-order your tickets the Shades of Green will e-mail you the numbers on the backs of the tickets so you can link them to your MDE account. Then you can begin making your FP+ reservations 30 days out. When you check in you will be given your tickets.

Currently there is a problem with the Stars and Strips passes and the discounted Magic Your Way tickets. If you are purchasing one of these once you have linked them to your MDE account you can call the Disney Internet Help Desk at 800-848-6413 and they can correct the problem with the number of days not being recognized. You can read about this at http://www.militarydisneytips.com/b...orld-fastpass-plus-for-the-military-traveler/

If you did not receive a pre-order form from the Shades of Green I would call them and inquire about it. You are right around your 30 day window now so you will not have lost too many days to make your reservations rather than waiting until you arrive.

I was in the parks on Monday with a CM and we didn't have any trouble at all. CM's cannot make early FP's nor do they have an option to link their main gates or make any changes online, so we were at the mercy of the FP kiosks for our day. The kiosks worked out well.

We arrived to DAK around noon and booked 3 FP's for the rides we wanted at decent times. In 6 hours we ended up at 2 parks (we hit MK after DAK), rode 7 rides (4 were FP), had lunch, and even stopped at the bar for a drink while waiting for a FP time to come about. I think you will be fine. There were lots of FP people and kiosks around and we had a great time. You can absolutely survive without advanced FP reservations.
