Can we park for free at parks if staying on property if we decide not to use bus?

If we are staying at Pop Century and decide to use our rental car to drive to any of the parks, can we do that and not have to pay the daily parking rate? I'm not sure if we will want to, but I've heard it can save time instead of waiting for the bus service. Just curious. We haven't been in a few years and stayed off property last time and paid the $20 or $25 parking fee.

If there is a thread discussing the pros/cons, please post. Thanks!

Staying on disney property at a disney resort, means free parking at the parks.:)

THANK YOU Jimbo!

I'm wondering if we should bother with the car, other than maybe going to Publix for snacks/groceries here and there on our 6 night stay. We do have an upgraded meal plan for the first time, so it will be minimal need for that. Maybe grab & go quick breakfast snacks like granola bars to eat on the go to the parks.

I'm reading the long Pop Century thread now on FAQ for info. Excited about this trip! :cool1:

if you do decide to drive to the parks, remember that for MK you park at TTC and have to take either monorail or ferry to the park. MK is the only park that you do not park at the park

If you have any ADRs at resorts, it is often much easier to drive your car to them. Using Disney transportation to get from one resort to another can be a real pain and very time consuming.

When DH was alive we always rented a car and used it to go everywhere. We liked the freedom and we always had a seat. Without him I do not get a rental, largely because I don't do many ADRs. If you are going to have the car anyway you should try using it and see what form of transportation you like best.

We prefer driving and renting a car for a whole week. It gives more leeway if we want to leave the park early and go do other things outside disney such as shopping and/or going to different attractions outside Disney.

Parking is free and if you request at your resort to be near a parking lot, it is great especially at the end of the day and you didn't choose to be on preferred rooms.

The only park NOT to drive to is MK. Take the bus as they will get you much closer, much sooner than driving yourself. Unless, you're up for the adventure of parking and taking either monorail or ferry over to MK.

Nope-don't have to pay for parking when staying on property.

And I agree with other posters, I probably won't drive to MK. I'd rather have the bus take us straight there and not worry about the monorail/ferry. Although, DH does have a brick over at the TTC, so we may have to visit it!
