Can we make a list of less desireable sites?

It would be very helpful if we could put together a list of site numbers that a camper might want to avoid. This list could be printed out to have in hand when you check-in.
For example, site 617 I think it is, the notorious grill on the sidewalk site? That way you could say "whoa, that is the site that state reason for not wanting site here at check in and have them change your site before driving in, parking and then realizing it is not the optimal site for you!
What does everyone think?

I like the idea.

But then again, like any campground review it is subjective to the reviewer. What I might like, others might dislike. KWIM? I can't tell you how many CG reviews I've read on RVParkReviews.com that have been a 7-10 rating and I get there and am shocked it would receive above a 5....

Also with all the recent renovations, if folks haven't been there recently alot may have changed....

I am on the fence about this idea.

I actually have thought about starting a FW Site Hall of Shame, but truthfully, I think there might be three or four sites in the entire campground that I would not want. That's three or four out of 800. And, my reason for not wanting a site may be the very reason that someone else would like the site.

For example, someone with mobility issues might love 617 because it has a nice, wide sidewalk next to it, and is right next to the bus stop, and close to the pool, trading post and campfire area. Another example is on the 500 loop, there is a site that sits right on the path to the comfort station. I would not like having that site, but someone who wants to be super close to a comfort station would love it.

So, I am still not so sure preparing this kind of list is worth the effort.

I would think a list like that is more suitable for a campground that allows you to reserve a particular site. You could get a CM at check-in with a like it or leave it attitude and be in a site on the list that you ask not to be put in for what ever the reason is. That would upset most people because you already have an expectation of that being a bad site.

I see what you guys are saying and they are good points. I guess I was thinking more detailed than just good or bad because you are right, one persons good is another's bad. Say you had small kids and I know I have seen some sites that back right up to a canal or sharp drop off. That could be on the list, ie....

site xxx - right beside canal, sharp drop, would watch if have children

or another example of something that is bad for one person but good for another...

site yyy - right beside playground, occasionally loud children playing

I also agree that it would be a short list cause there are very few sites that have any issues but I would like to know what to expect when I got 617 because I would definately be wanting another site!

I think the idea of describing a site in as much detail as possible would be very helpful escpecially if accompanied by a photo and a description of where the site is and proximity to other amenities.

I don't think this is a bad idea, provided there is enough detail as to what the person didn't like about the site. A site next to the comfort station path might be undesirable for someone in a fully contained rig that doesn't plan to use it, but might be the ideal site for a tent camper with a small bladder. A site with road noise might be terrible for a camper in a popup but fine for someone in a hardsided trailer who wants to be near a bus stop. And what's great for someone in a small trailer might not work at all for someone in a big rig. I've had well over a dozen different sites at the Fort, and all but one worked well for us. I'm happy to share that one - it was 1428, and I had to call the front desk to get a different site. For most people it would probably be a fine site, but anyone in a very long camping rig might want to avoid it. Our 45' motorhome filled the entire site, leaving no room for a car. I expected that a premium site would accommodate any RV, but apparently some of them don't.

I know nothing!

But, I will tell you all that I have had insider access to what I believe Shan-man calls the Alpha version of this project, and I have found it to be a very useful and amazing item.

That's all I'm saying about that.
