Can we link DDP credits from 2 reservations?

We have 2 rooms linked together (DD16 & DD18 will have their own room) but with 2 different reservation numbers. Our DD16 & DD18 will be dining alone at Planet Hollywood while DH, DD4 and I are doing the Princess thing at Akershus. Since we have coupons for Planet Hollywood I would prefer the girls use those and then DH and I can have a private anniversary dinner at Via Napoli the next night. Credits will be on girls cards are can I link them all under one so we can use them? If not are there any suggestions on how we can use their 2 unused credits for our anniversary dinner?

My sister and I had a separate room from our parents last year (rooms linked together but separate ressie numbers) and we had our own dining credits, and they had theirs. When we would eat all together, either me or my sister would have to present one of our room keys and our parents would present another. I don't know if you can link all dinig credits from both rooms together. if they are two separate reservations, it's seems like it would be tough for them to do that, but Im not certain. (sorry, that was probably no help).

We've had them both ways. I think it depends if the CM knows how to or not. Last time he was unable to link them but he said that we could use either room for our credits, and if any place disputed it I could just have them call the resort. I was concernd because the one card had one adult and three children and the other card had all adults. I would think that if they can't link your credits than you would just take your DD card for your meal to use the credits.

You cannot combine the credits assigned to separate reservations. If the two rooms have separate reservation numbers, then whether they are "linked" in the system or not, you cannot combine the credits assigned to those rooms. If you want to use credits assigned to their room, you will need to bring with you a key card from that room.

If they are not linked couldn't you on another meal when you are all dining together have DD16 pay for 2 adult meals with her card, DD18 pay for 2 adult meals with her card, and use your card to pay for the one children's meal leaving the 2 extra credits remaining on your room card for the anniversary dinner. This is what Disney told us to do in a similar situation a few years back. I'm wondering if it would still work that way or if things have changed since I did something similar.

Now you are only allowed to order as many meals as people show up on your room key. So if the two daughters were together at a meal, only two adult meals total could be subtracted from their room key. Their room key would show 2A, so only 2 adult meals could be subtracted from their key at a meal.

wanted to mention...at Planet Hollywood we were not allowed to use two coupons at the same table. The waitress pointed out the line on the coupon that says "cannot be combined with any other discount"...she said that applied to the whole table, so one coupon or discount per table. Now some people in larger groups were allowed to use 2 coupons when they had 2 different room cards/dining plans but our small party of 3 was not allowed to even though we had 2 different rooms/2 different dining plans (hubby & I were in one room...so our cards said 2A for 2 adults; son was in his own room, so his card said 1A.)
So if you send the girls with the coupons, send plenty of money in case they are only allowed to use one coupon.

Also, even if they do allow the girls to use two coupons, don't know if you've looked at the menu there, but the two $15 coupons would not cover a burger & a coke for each girl...even the cheapest burger/coke combo would be $15 before tax & tip is added. So send money, either way.:thumbsup2

But don't each of them have their own room key so 2 meals from dd16's card and then 2 meals for dd18's card. So only 2 meals per card not going over the 2A limit I believe.

When I went in I believe in 2006 or 2007 but definately after they seporated out the adult and child credits and were not letting anyone order more than the number indicated on the card, I met my friend, her husband, and her sister down there. We were 4 adults, 2 in each room, all with the dining plan so each card indicated 2A. The 3 of them drove down and arrived early while I flew in from the west coast with a late arrival. The three of them booked a dinner without me but my friend's sister didn't have her keys to the world card yet because she was booked in my room and I hadn't checked in yet. What we did (as a cast-member suggested we do) was have my friend charge 2 meals to her room card while her husband charged 1 meal to his seporate card (but for the same room). The next day on our table service meal I charge 1 meal to my card and my friend's sister charged 2 meals to her seporate but from the same room card to even this out and get everyone square again.

I was hoping for the op that this is still an option. I've taken 2 trips since that one but haven't had to attempt something like that again because my husband came for those trips and we used the dining plan in the regular manner. Unless they have changed it so that you can't each use your card at the same time I would think that this would allow the op to get the right number of meals left on their own cards so they don't have to take one of their daughter keys etc. to have it work out. Anyone know if this has been changed in the Disney system since I attempted it to limit it by room instead of by card?

Only one person from each room is allowed to show a card. They use the card to see how many of what kind of credits each room has, but they will only allow you to draw as many credits as there are people in the room each time. Having multiple cards does not work.

To reduce the number of people who try to use their credits to pay for meals for people not on their dining plan you can only use the credits to pay for up to the number of people specified on the KTTW card. Since the cards and the dining plan are tied to the room, if the card says 2 Adults that's the maximum number of meals you'll be able to purchase at one time. This is addressed in the dining plan pdfs.

The scenario of 2A/3 meals you described would no longer work. However, today, if your friend is listed in your room she could go ahead, check in, and get her KTTW card and dining plan credits before you arrive and just present her card at the restaurant when she dines with the other couple.

This has been the policy for quite awhile. I know about three or four years ago I went on a solo trip and met some three fellow DISers at PH our first night. We were each able to use our Planet Hollywood vouchers for our meals. Just a few months later we were back down there and again met our first night at PH. That trip we were told the policy had changed and they now allowed only one voucher per table, (even though we were all in seperate rooms under different reservations and for the most part in different resorts even).

Off topic: another change they made about the same time--used to the PH vouchers were good until Dec 31st of the current year, so if you didn't use them on one trip, you could still use them on subsequent trips during that same year. Now they are only valid during the current trip.

In October they allowed both my MIL and I to use our PH vouchers. Perhaps it depends on the server. However we were not able to use a coupon that we had printed online with the vouchers as that fell under the can not be combined with any other offer disclaimer. Also we did not have two seperate checks but one check doing this. We were a party of three adults, a child, and an infant.

OP If they can not combine credits perhaps you can get an extra room key to your kids room. I have read of people being able to do that. Maybe that would help you out. That way your daughter could have her KTTW card to get into the park while you are at dinner.

I figure I will chime in, not bc I have experienced this, but bc I *might* have another option for you.

Can you change your reservations a little, switching one kid and one adult? Like Mom and kid1 in one room, Dad and kid2 in the other? Then you and your husband would each have a different room, with different credits, and you could split the bill at Via Napoli.

IDK for sure this would work easily, it would require remembering to use the right card for the whole trip...

Excellent idea!

That is an awesome Idea. And so simple! (And we have access to the kids room!:yay:

Thank you everyone. You've all helped a lot.
