Can we get a Crib instead of Playpen in room?

Does anyone have experience with being able to get a Crib in a room (at AK or GF) in place of the play pen, directly from the hotel (or Disney)? If yes, was it free of charge, or was there a fee?

You can request one, but there is a very limited number of actual cribs on Disney property and the chances of receiving one are slim. If a crib is the only option you're comfortable with, your best bet is going to be renting one from an offsite company and having them deliver it to your room.

We requested, and received a crib in our room at the CR this past April. There were no issues and no there was no charge.

Mousemommy, was it normal sized or smaller - pack n play-ish sized? I am having an internal struggle trying to figure out how my little one will sleep best. Our past few attempts at the pack n play have been disastrous. Debating on requesting a crib or hoping that the exhaustion from the day will help her sleep in the pnp.

I know my kid and I'm dealing with the same issue. There is NO WAY she will sleep in a pack n play. I'm trying to decide on crib or roll-away bed. I am going to have to call before I reserve my room to decide.

I've also heard that the resorts have toddler rails for the beds...any truth to that? I may end up going that route...

before you decide make sure what type of crib they have. grandson would not slept in metal crib.

We were able to get a crib at BWV last trip and our first trip way back when, we did request two bed rails that were quite useful.

I feel like the cribs were on the smaller side but seemed more comfy than a pack n play. And it was a metal crib as PP mentioned.

Yes they do. At both Pop and CR we requested them with a phone call from room when we arrived, and they brought them up shortly thereafter. No charge.
