Can we do this from BWV or VWL?

Hope this question is in the right forum....
We are relatively new DVC owners and AP holders. We plan on staying at BWV in Jan. and VWL in February and again in May.

Without taking a bus, using only boats and/or monorail service, from BWV and VWL, could someone:

1) Get to Magic Kingdom, Epcot and MGM? How would you do it?
2) Get to Animal Kingdom? The maps look like it is an isolated park.

Any tips on where to transfer, etc. would be appreciated. Many thanks to the experts on these boards who provide so much valuable info.

From the BWV, you could walk through Epcot and take the MonoRail to the Ticket & Transportation Center. Then board the MK monorail or take the Boat to the MK (no bus required)- or from VWL take the boat to the MK and then board the MonoRail to TTP and then into Epcot.

MGM is within walking distance of the BW or you can take a boat (no bus required)

Animal Kingdom is another story. I'm pretty sure you need to take the bus to this park.

Hope this helps.

The only way to the AK from either the VWLor the BWV is bus, taxi or car. No boat or monorail serves the AK.

Getting to EPCOT & MGM from BWV is easy - walk or take the boat! We love the BWV for the convenient location that allows us to walk. (You could drive or taxi, too, but IMHO, those options might take longer than walking, LOL).

To get to the MK from the BWV without the bus, you either have to drive, take a taxi or you could walk through EPCOT and grab the monorail to the TTC. At the TTC, you have to switch to the MK monorail or take the ferry. You'll need park admission to walk through EPCOT and you can only do it if EPCOT is open.

From the VWL, you'd take the boat to the MK.

To get to EPCOT from VWL without using a bus, you could take the boat to the MK, hop the monorail to the TTC and at the TTC, switch to the EPCOT monorail. (IMHO, it's easier and faster to take the bus to EPCOT from the VWL, but the monorail ride between the TTC and EPCOT is kind of fun).

Assuming you don't want to drive or take a taxi and want to get to MGM without taking bus, you'd have to go to EPCOT, walk through the park to the International Gateway dock and take the boat. That's probably a 2 hour trip. And yoou need park admission to walk through EPCOT and cannot do it if EPCOT isn't open.

Kind of wondering why you don't want to take a bus?

From BWV, you could take a boat directly to MGM. You could also take a boat directly to Epcot, but to get to the MK you would have to walk through Epcot and get a monorail to MK. At night, you might have trouble if you left MK after 9:00 - you might not be able to get back through Epcot to catch the boat to BWV (it's at the back entrance to Epcot - the International Gateway between England and France.)

From VWL, there's a boat to MK, and then a monorail ride to Epcot, but no access to MGM, unless you walked through Epcot and caught the boat at the International Gateway. That's a really cumbersome way to do it, though - at that point, the bus would be much easier.

There's no boat or monorail access to Animal Kingdom - it's private car, taxi, or bus.

Have a great time on all your trips!!

I guess because I can ride a bus in any town bigger than Dogpatch anytime but how often can one take piloted boat rides and ride a monorail in the same day? As a matter of fact, it sounds like just going from park-to-park is a Disney experience in and of itself worthy of an "E-ticket"! (Gosh, those two references surely dated myself)

And with the AP's we should be able to pick and choose individual rides, taking the Disney experience from our normal commando pace to one that is much more leisurely. I am really looking forward to that most of all. More stopping to smell the perfectly pruned roses at Disney!
Thanks to all for your input!

If you chose to take these routes just be aware you will literally have hours along the way to smell the roses. ;)
