Money is a little tight right now after I quit my job and started my own business, but we(myself, wife, 7 MO), have had this trip planned for 8 months and there is no backing down... Our goal is to spend less than $1000 for our 7 nights....

1. VWL studio is paid for, rented points...

2. We already bought our 7 day park hopper plus tickets..

3. We bought 8 Q&C's...

Whats left is basically gas (est $200), food and a few souveniers... A few musts we feel is dinner at Bomas, breakfest at Boma's and a couple at Whispering Canyon...

What can we do to get by without feeling cheated of a good time??

I would think so... We, DH, DD (6) and myself, usually set and stay within a spending budget of $1500 and that includes character meals, souvenirs and travel driving from Springfield to Orlando...

Given that the accomodations and park passes are already paid for, you're driving instead of flying and your party consists of 2 adults and an infant, I see no reason why you couldn't have a very enjoyable trip with $1000 to spend. Have a great time!

;) i dont see how, but i know it can be done, we are getting everthing separate, also this next trip!!!!!!good luck disneykid

You should be able to have a great time on $1,000. Just be aware of where your money is going and pace yourself. Enjoy your trip!

I didn't seen when you were leaving, but even if you only have a few weeks left, you should be able to set aside a few more dollars before then if you really try. Cut down the grocery budget by eliminating things like soda, chips, beer, expensive cold cereal, and other non-essential items. Plan a few meals of things like rice and beans, tuna casserole and a few bkfsts of oatmeal or toast, instead of those really expensive cold cereals. If you are having a hard time adjusting to this, just keep reminding yourself that it is to save $$ for DISNEY!! I'd eat oatmeal and rice and beans every day if it meant more $$ for Disney!

Cut down or eliminate meals out. Don't to out to the movies. Just a few changes over the next few weeks/months should help you pad your WDW budget a little so you won't have to worry so much while you are there!........................P

I sure hope that's not a problem because my DH, myself and my DD(3.5) are going to have much less than that when we go for 8 days 7 nights and we've got a one day overnight in SC on the way. I guess it depends on how you plan and what you consider important in your experience. Our rooms are paid for, hoppers are paid for, we get get $100 Disney Dollars when we check in(through 7 for 4 deal), and we already have 2 VKLs and 4 Q&C. I have also prebought(dollar store and Target clearance) Disney toys for my DD for when we are there. We will do priceline for our room in SC there and back, all breakfast and some lunches will be in the room. I'll stop at SuperTarget for the milk, yogurt, lunchmeat etc. and make sure to use some coupons. We have Culligan water bottles for in the park. I am a major couponer, so I can easily budget whatever snacks I don't already have into my weekly budget now to bring. I already have plenty of breakfast items here from couponing(I don't ever pay more than .99 for a box of name-brand cereal with coupons). I guess our experience will be what some will consider not a full Disney experience because we won't be staying at the nicest hotel there, eating all our meals there, and buying lots of souvenirs, but I know we will enjoy every minute of it.

You should be fine, we just got back me, my DH and our DD 10 years old, who usually eats from the adult menu. We had no problem putting ourselves on a $100.00 a day eating/drinking budget. We ate in nice restaurants, not fast food and some days had money left over which we put aside as mad money. We had other money for shopping, etc. but the $100 a day worked. Good luck you will be fine

and our budget for food and extras is $100 a day. We'll eat some breakfasts in the room, bring snacks in our pockets and do just fine. We don't buy many souvenirs though as the kids each have their own budgets for them and we don't need anymore, we go fairly often.

I'm guessing your grand will do quite nicely for two adults. I'm assuming you're bringing food for baby if he/she isn't nursing.

You're staying at VWL so you can eat in when you feel like it and those 8 Q&C's will go a long way unless you're huge eaters.

Our first trip in 2000 we had $900.00 for 9 days. I stressed for weeks before we left thinking we wouldn't have a great time. We stayed at ASM and had 8 night PHP, paid for way in advance. We ate breakfast in the room. Brought snacks into the parks. Ate one meal in the parks, usually a sit down character meal. The heat helped because we didn't want to eat more. We brought our own water bottles in and refilled them. I bought only a few things in each park, it was hard but stuck to it. My kids were 8 and 9 at the time and did have about $50 in disney dollars for themselves and we didn't drive. When we boarded the plane for home, I brought home $350.00, I was blown away. So it can be done. Have a great trip!!!!!
