We are a family of 7, but one child will be 2, so he's free.

The $5 ticket deal is 1 child per adult ticket, so we'd have to pay full price for 2 kids and 2 kids can get the $5 deal.

Our oldest DS will be 11. If we purchase him an adult ticket, we'd be buying 3 adult tickets, and could therefore get 3 of the $5 child tickets. This would be about $50 cheaper to do. According to the website, adult tickets are required for kids over 10, but the $5 deal states it is good for kids 3-12. I'm confused! Is this allowing for flexibility? Would we be questioned for buying an 11 yr old an adult ticket?

OOOh, I'd like to know the answer to this also.

Can I buy my almost 12yr old DD an adult ticket which would allow give me to get two $5 tickets for my 5DD and then we could go two days. Adult tickets - 2nd day free and then use the $5 tickets for two different days. I'm thinking this would work.

Child tickets are for kids 3 - 10...

So you´ll HAVE TO buy an adult ticket for your 11 yo :goodvibes

Not sure about this 5$ tickt and why this one is 3 - 12... :confused3

But on their website it says:

Now through December 31, 2010, when U.S. residents purchase a full-price adult admission, children ages 3-12 receive a ticket to SeaWorld for only $5.00.

That makes it sound like the 11 yo would be considered a child. I started freaking out reading this post. We have 3 adults and 4 kids. Ages of the kids are 12 ,10, 8 & 2. Of course we only need tickets for the oldest 3 since the 2 yo is free. I figured on buying 3 adults tickets then my 3 kid tickets would be $5. That is right, isn't it? Their ad is saying that kids 3-12 are $5.
As for buying the 11 yo an adult ticket, I can't imagine it being a problem, not like they'll give you the 3rd degree questioning you on his/her age and asking to see a birth certificate. Just walk up and order x amount of adult and x amount of kid tickets. Or order online or whatever. You're not doing anything wrong. It's their age requirements that aren't clear. It does overlap.
