Can we avoid sudden loud noises?

Is it possible to avoid sudden loud noises such as fireworks sounds or other similar sudden sounds inside the parks? What rides and shows should we skip, and what about just walking inside the parks? I don't think noise cancellation headphones will be an option for us.

Off the top of my head, walking near the castle could be a problem. They have a show (during the day mind you) with fireworks in it. They can be heard in a few places (always scares DD). I would avoid Lights, action and the Indy show at MGM.

Avoid Pirates of the Caribbean, Snow White's Scary Adventure, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (the tunnels are very noisy), Stitch's Great Escape, maybe even Buzz Lightyear (the shooting sounds?) Jungle Cruise (they shoot a fake gun?)

I'm guessing if the headphones aren't an option, that ear plugs won't be either?

I think Snow White and buzz might be OK, as far as sudden noises go, but I may have misremembered. The show at MK goes about 3 or 4 times a day. If you look up the times and make sure you're over the other side of the park (or, better still, inside an attraction) at the time.

OK, I'm just going to look through all the attractions and spiel off any that I think might be problematic. If I've not mentioned it, I either don't think it'll be a problem, or I forgot an aspect of it:

Magic Kingdom

• I think the Tiki Room has sudden thunder noises.
• Jungle Cruise and Pirates both have gun shots, and the latter has cannon fire
• Thunder Mountain has some very loud noises and sudden
• The fort on Tom Sawyer's Island has guns you can shoot (with sound)
• Haunted Mansion has things that pop up suddenly, with a small amount of noise (not too loud, but quite sudden)
• I think the paddle steamer may have a horn on it, but I'm not sure
• Peter Pan has a cannon, but it's not too too loud, and is predictable (Hook shouts "Fire Mr Smee" before they shoot)
• Space Mountain is dark, with screaming, but I don't think it has any banging noises
• The TTA goes through Space Mountain, but nothing else that loud
• Stitch would not be a good idea

EPCOT

• Mission Space, possibly not a good idea. The tame version might be all right, but I can't remember
• Test Track has some 'crash' noises, not too loud, but possibly a little intense
• Soarin' has a firework at the end, not as loud as the real thing, but possibly too much
• Figment has one or two sudden things happen, including a train with horn
• Honey I Shrunk the Audience probably isn't a good one for you
• Mexico ride has some fireworks effects, but their very quiet
• Maelstrom has shouting trolls and thunder
• There is sometimes loud drumming outside in Japan (see the times sheet)
• The band Off Kilter perform in Canada, and might be a little loud, but should be OK, I think

MGM / Hollywood Studios (whatever you want to call it)

• Great Movie Ride has gun shots, an alien above you and thunder-type noises
• I think Sounds Dangerous would be one to avoid (the name says it all)
• Indiana Jones has gunshots and explosions
• Star Tours has 'laser' shooting sounds and an explosion
• Muppets 3D has cannon and gun fire
• Lights, Motors, Action is a definite no: loud explosions, revving engines, guns etc
• Backlot Tours has explosions in the pre-show and the tour
• Never done Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, or Tower of Terror, but I'd guess no on them!

Animal Kingdom

• It's Tough to Be a Bug has loud noises, intense effects and screaming
• Not seen the Lion King show
• Safari may be a little intense, quite bumpy, creaking bridge and I think there's some gun fire
• Flights of Wonder has birds flying low over head, and one or two bird call noises, but mostly quite peaceful
• River Rapids I can't remember any loud sounds, but I'm not sure
• Expedition Everest I haven't done, but doubt it would be good for you
• Dinosaur is a definite no, loud roars and dinosaurs lunging out of the darkness

Hope this helps some. It's not necessarily got everything in, but it's all I can remember at the moment.
