Can u tell me about Mickey's backyard BBQ?

Is it outside? What do they do if it rains? How was it overall? would u recommend it for very young kids, mine will be 5, 3, and 8 mo. when we go in sept. Thanks for any info!

yes, it is outside. the queue is not covered however. i would think it would go on as scheduled in the rain. the building is open sided. keep in mind it is hot in florida in september. the food is served buffet style; the character interaction is very good. we prefer the HDD over the BBQ.

We did the BBQ last year with a 5 and 3-year old. For the most part, the kids enjoyed it, but it was extremely crowded in the pavilion where it is done.

It was also very loud, which did bother my 3-year old. She actually asked to leave after about 2 hours, and normally when there are characters around you can't pull her away from them!

All in all, I would say it is a very fun time for kids - at least to experience once! I would be a little worried about the noise factor for the 8-month old though.

We tried this one once but would not do it again. The character interaction was great, but it was hot (we were there in mid Sept), the mosquitos were bad and the food was not very good. It was BBQ chicken, corn on the cob,etc. We took a boat ride from maybe the WL (can't remember) and the bugs were terrible. It was light going over but very dark on the way back. We stood on the dock and waited for a boat, but couldn't talk because the bugs were flying in our mouths.

If character interaction is the key for you, it doesn't get much better. There are no CM's guiding the characters. They just come out and dance and have fun. There were a few kids who kind of hogged the characters. The kids can kind of run wild while the parents are sitting on the picnic type benches.

I too preferred the Hoop Dee Doo and my kids 2 and 6 loved that too.

Wow! for some reason I didn't even think about Mosquitos-Yuck-that will drive me nuts . I think we'll just stick with Hoop de Doo, we can get character interaction elsewhere!
