Can transferred points be banked?

I have a small amount of points I’ll most likely be transferring to my brother. I know banked points can’t be transferred. My question is … can he bank the points once transferred or must he use them before the original expiration date, 1/31/24?

Yes, points transferred can then be banked by the recipient, with the caveat that for any given use year you have only until the end of the eighth month of the use year to bank points.

Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify, once they are transferred they are no longer my use year (Feb) and become his use year (whatever that may be)?

No, points always retain their original use year even if transferred. If you transfer Feb 2023 points, they remain Feb 2023 points and the recipient would need to bank them by no later than Sep 30, 2023.

To add, transferred points can’t be borrowed so that is another important aspect.
