Right now we have a room only reservation booked for next May. However, my husband is strongly thinking of us also adding the DP for us as well. I told him that I wanted to crunch some numbers to see if it would be worth it for us to get it, we usually pay out of pocket. If we didn't decide until we checked in that we wanted to get the DP is that something we can do then or does the DP have to be bought as a package; along with your hotel reservation prior to check-in?

Last I heard you had to add the package components 5 days prior to your arrival. And remember that when you add DDP you have to at least get a 1-day MYW ticket per person.

Do you have an annual pass? If you have one, you can convert your room-only to a room/dining package if they have room/dining packages available for your trip dates.

If you do not have an annual pass, you must cancel your room only and rebook a room/tickets/dining package. The dining plan is available only as part of a WDW package booking. Only DVC members staying on points can add DDP without making their reservation into a package.

The dining plan can't be added at check-in. You must have a package booking before that.
