Can the table service credits be used for a quick service meal?

My family does not like to sit down and eat big meals every day at the park. In the past we have been better off with the quick service plan using them for meals at the parks when the free dining plan offers have been available. Unfortunately this year, the Family Suites are not on that offer (at least not when we will be traveling) so we will have to stay in a moderate resort (5 of us in one room). The plans for the moderate resorts include the 1 quick service meal and one table service meal. Just wondering if you can exchange a table service meal for a quick service meal on some days?

Yes you can, but if you're going to be eating the majority of your meals at counter service, you may want to run the numbers and see if a room-only discount and paying out of pocket for meals would be more affordable.

We have looked at the number so many time my head hurts!!:rotfl2: With the discounts we can get for the time we are going the Free Dining Plan offer still comes out to be the best deal for us. Not by a lot, but enough to matter. And if we can "down grade" the credits the full dining plan might allow us to add on a character meal and maybe a Hoop-Dee-Doo show that we wouldn't have been able to squeeze into the original budget.

You may also want to consider getting 2 connecting rooms at a value. This is what we do. It is more expensive then your room at riverside but less expensive then the family suite if that is what u usually get, and u have 2 baths and 2 tvs. You would also have your quick service dining. You won't really miss the fridge since u have the dining plan, just bring a cooler for some milk and bfast stuff

I second that about how many times we have run numbers and yes we always come out better with free dining. Even when we try to share meals at counter and everything, by the time we add snacks and random drinks we cannot save over free dining and we even pay to upgrade from counter to regular

I know it's a package deal, but consider asking if there is a package deal that offers a dining that does not have a sit down meal. The dining packages Disney offers *do* have one that is just quick service.

I'll check, but I think the CM told me that we couldn't go down to the quick service plan under the free dining plan package at the moderates. But who knows, I might get someone who will do it next time I call.

That is correct you cannot go down with free dining

It is possible that there are not even any room only discount offers out for their travel time.

MANY folks have been waiting on the discount codes and rate forum for months. Still no rumors of room only fall dates or beyond.

I may be wrong, but I'm not sure that you can count on using a TS credit for a CS meal at all the eateries in the parks. Your best bet for a trade is at a resort.

And yes, the PP who recommended downgrading your package to the QS plan is correct - you cannot do this with free dining.

Not all CS restaurants, especially in the parks, will allow you to use a TS for a CS meal. People have had better luck doing this at the food courts in the resorts. It is best to ask first.
