Can someone walk me through FP+ selection?

Next week I am purchasing my AP vouchers and will link them immediately. A few days later my FP+ selection window opens. I know what park I will be in for which days as I made my lunch and dinner reservations at 180 days +10. My magic bands are customized but I haven't received them yet.

If Disney has my lunch and dinner reservations will it give me FP+ options that I can attend? If I have lunch at 11:30 does it block 11:30-1 off?

What will I see when I get to make my selection? We are always first in line at the turnstiles. So I would like my FP+ selections later in the day, when the park is more crowded.

I am excited about the parade choices as I haven't seen a parade in years. If someone has done one I would like to hear about it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

When you make your FP+ selections you will get 4 options for times. You will select one of them but after you do you can go back in and change the times for them individually.

When I did my FP+ selections it never gave me an option to pick a time that would overlap an ADR. I believe it takes that into account, but I could be wrong. I know each day I had one ADR, and it didn't have an option for a FP+ at that time.

As smbowtie said, it will give you 3 or 4 options on the times to pick for your FP+ options. Then after you secure those options, if you want to go back and individually pick a different time for each one you can.

If you have any problems changing them individually, just call Disney and they'll fix it for you. I had a problem with one of mine and they fixed it in just a couple of minutes.

When you make your FP+ selections you will get 4 options for times. You will select one of them but after you do you can go back in and change the times for them individually.

For those who have the time and patience to get exactly what FP+ you want and when you want them, here’s what I finally figured out worked best for me:

1) Select the initial group which was FURTHEST AWAY in time from the time frame that I really wanted, regardless of what attractions were listed in that group.

2) THEN change each individual attraction to the attraction I wanted and THEN change it to the time I wanted (there would then be lots of hour-windows to choose from, because there was no conflict between those times and the times in the initial group).

Does that make sense?

In other words, if the initial group had, for example, Tower of Terror from 10:50 to 11:50, and I wanted to change Toy Story Mania to an 10:00-11:00 time frame, that time would not be available because it overlapped with my initial Tower of Terror time frame. So then if I decided I better change the Tower of Terror FIRST, I might still have a problem getting a time I wanted for it because it conflicted with the third attraction in the initial group.

So just best to start out picking an initial time frame I DIDN'T want at all (even with attractions that I didn't want), and then I had maximum flexibility in getting the attractions I wanted at the times I wanted.
