Hi there! We will be staying at OKW next month. My aunt and cousin live in Stuart and are thinking of coming up to visit us. They won't go to the parks or anything, but it would be nice for us to hang out with them for an afternoon and go to dinner. They wouldn't stay overnight.

My question -- Are visitors allowed to hang out at the resort in the hotel room and go to a resort restaurant (Olivia's)? It would be even nicer if we could have some pool time together. Can I do that if I pay for the overnight visitor fee? I think it's like $25 / night?

Thanks!

They can visit and eat no problem. I'm sure they can hang out by the pool too, but if they want to go in the pool I think you would have to add them to the reservation for the night. You could only add them to the reservation if it doesn't put the room over occupancy.

My cousin and his family visited us at OKW one evening in August, the kids swam for a few minutes literally before a fast moving storm blew through. The guys all went to the bar and my cousins' wife and I brought the kids to Community Hall where they proceeded to do several arts and crafts projects. I never even thought to ask if it would be an issue for using the pool and everything else that we did cost money which they didn't turn away so....

They're welcome to hang out with you and eat at the restaurants, but only registered guests are allowed to swim. Sometimes if the pools aren't full and you ask the lifeguards, they will allow others to swim. If you have the room capacity, I'd go ahead and add them to your reservation.

What overnight visitor fee? Are you on a Disney cash reservation or DVC Points? Never heard of an overnight visitor fee.

If you have not reached your occupancy limit add them to your room. Then there is no question about pool use etc.

It's a disney cash reservation. I thought all of the resorts allowed you to add someone to a reservation for a fee. Not sure if that's different for DVC properties...

We do this exact thing. Our family is local while we live in NC so it's a great way to visit.

As PP said- best option. If there is room on occupancy add them to the registration. This will make swimming a non issue. Per rules only registered guests are allowed to use free resort amenities.

If you cannot add them you can still get parking pass at check in for them. They can visit with you in the room. Ride with you to DTD. Enjoy Olivia's. Shop at the gift shop. Drink at the bar. Etc.
