Can someone tell me How my free quick service dining I booked a month ago is free? Because if I do the exact trip... same tickets...same everything... I pay$2,025.58 without dining.
With my Free dining and ALL the same stuff... I pay...$2,286.59
And yes I added the insurance cost into BOTH...
I have never gone back and qualculated it before... when I have had free dining. I won't be mentioning this to my husband thats for sure! :confused3

Check your room type to make sure it is the same and the ticket type. It could be a hopper vs. non-hopper or preferred vs. non-preferred room thing. If you still can't find the difference, I'd call and ask. Our free dining worked out to be exactly the same as pricing it without dining at all.

I think I'd call Disney reservations and talk to someone about that....tell them exactly what you put it. Maybe they plugged in a more expensive room and that added to the price? But I would definately call someone and get it fixed.... Good luck !! :goodvibes

I called the guy was a jerk. He said then rebook it online. When I add in the pin it is upping my price Like the pins not working.

Any booking with free dining pays full rack rate on the rooms. Your non-dining package probably has a discounted room rate.

That was my guess as well. Free dining is not free unless you were already going to pay rack rate for your room (and many people do not these days, given all the discounts Disney has been offering).

::yes:: If you're staying deluxe it's almost never more beneficial to participate in free dining if other promotions are being offered.

Call back. You'll probably get another CM. See if they can help you.

This is probably what happened. If you're not going to eat $2500 worth of food, you might be better off going without free dining.

Does the computer automatically add a promo? I thought they calculated tack rate in the computer unless you went through a promo link.

True. While we all love to think we're getting something for nothing (free) it just isn't happening. I just don't understand why folks don't get that?? :confused3 Especially at WDW :rotfl:

There's a reason they offer free dining, and its not for *our* benefit :lmao::rotfl:

It brings more people to the parks (to spend more money) during an *off* season.

Kids are back to school and its hotter than Hades. They gotta do something to get us there!

Good luck, hope you can work it out.

thats funny...we are certainly not spending 2500 in food! LOL :rotfl2:
I almost always pay rack rate cause I don't really care... Nothings free I get that... but the promo thing is not clicking into effect for me... Its like my pin is busted... :rotfl:

Not knowing your specifics it is hard to say exactly. But here are some things.
As pps said, you can not use two discounts at once. Free dining will be off a full rack rate room. so it isn't free compared to a discounted room, but rather to a full price room.
If you want to compare deals you need to make absolutely sure both quotes include exactly the same things.
If you checked pricing online, if you use a specials link, it will then automatically enter the discount. If you entered info on the home page that should be rack rate.

I posted on another thread about how many many many times I've seen people absolutely insist, repeatedly, that they knew for sure that the quotes included the exact same things yet when they finally actually checked they found out things were different. The cm's are human and make errors as are we. Some frequent mistakes that get made
A child will be charged in the wrong age (over 10, under 10, under 3)
A child will be left off
Wrong room category
Wrong Dates
Wrong Dining plan, missing dining plan
Missing ticket add ons, Added ticket add ons
Insurance - what you see online doesn't include the insurance for a few screens, however the quote given you on the phone will often include the insurance. They don't always tell you. You have to request that it not be there.
There are many other things that could be different from what you see verses what they see as well as mistakes one or the other may make.

The only thing I can think of is it is giving me the discounted rate that they are offering now... without me actually going through the that link. I don't know why... I guess that is what it is. I printed everything out and everything from the tickets, to the room view etc are the same. I always Buy the insurance, so I knew to look for that on the few screens after the orginal quote.
I know you only get one discount! :thumbsup2 It has to be giving me that without clicking on that link...owell!
I should try from another computer and see what happens... maybe that discount link somehow got activated into my computer! :lmao:
Regardless... Its a cheap quick trip and I am excited!! Wasn't expecting to go back so soon, since we just got back!!
Thanks though guys!! Always know where to find help!!

It's not $2,500, it's a difference of $261.01. I would imagine that the OP could easily exceed that amount for dining for the trip.

Ok I cleared my "cookies" somehow the current offer got activated in there... thats why it was coming up like that. So anyway, I am still ahead with the free quick dining.... paying Rack rate... so all is good... my pin wasn't broken... My computer is stupid!! :-) Ok I am !

$2500 in food?! How are you figuring that?

:lmao: Obviously I shouldn't be doing math in my head while trying to do something else! Anyway, somehow I got an extra 0 on the end and thought to myself......woah that's a lot of money for food!!

Hey, Imagine all the places we could eat if Disney gave us 2500 bucks i food! We could have a taste of this and a taste of that and not care if we finished it!:lmao::lmao:
