Can someone tell me I'm being stupid (or not...)

So...as you can see by my sig, we're only 10 days out now :cool1: and we're planning to do the Epcot drinking around the world thing on 23rd April. Now, we're staying off site so getting to the parks will require driving or relying on the hotel shuttle thingy (or getting a cab).
I work for a tour operator here so I can get a room at All Star Movies/Music for $86 total. My question is - would I be stupid and/or frivalous to consider booking a room there for that night?

I don't think so. I think it would be stupid to drive after trying to drink around the world but it seems you already know that since your thinking of other options.

I would go for the cab or getting a room for that night. You could even do EMH the day before/after if you want that way.

How much would the cab cost both ways? and to park at the parks that day. Your probably a decent amount to the 86 by then...

You're right - neither my dp or I will drive even after one beer - it just isn't worth it, especially in an unfamiliar area, in an unfamiliar vehicle.

So - if I book a night there, can I park at the hotel before I check in - like if I wanted to get to the park for rope drop? Can I also park there the next day?

Thanks x

Yes it's worth it! Drinking and driving is never a good idea. If you just plan to visit wdw I'd stay all nights at the all stars or rent a car for the rest of your trip if you plan to visit elsewhere
Heres a example
Cost of rental car $30
Gas $10
Parking $10

At the lowest that's $50 extra per day to rent a car if you stay at a Disney hotel they will pick up and drop you off the the hotels airport and parks
Unless your hotel is under 36 dollars a day I'd stay at all stars

Yes, so if you would park your car at one of the parks that would be savings of $14 per day for two days.

I am not a morning person so typing this makes me tired.:) You would drive into the hotel parking lot and tell them you are there for check in. They will ask for an ID that they check against a list (sometimes/most of the time/definitely not all of the time) and direct you to check in parking. You then park and check in. Your room may or may not be ready. You then put the parking pass on your windshield and head to the park. If your room is ready you can unpack. So I think you would have to get to the hotel at least an hour before ropedrop to make it.

The parking pass is good for the hotel or any of the parks, so if on day two you want to drive your car to a park you don't have to pay. If you wanted to do a different park on day one before EPCOT, you could also drive and park there.

Anytime there is an opportunity to stay onsite I'm there. You will probably spend more money drinking around the world then you would for that one night. Stay at All Star, drink responsibly and have a great time with no worries..
