Can someone recommend a loop?

We are arriving at the fort for 3 weeks starting on the 28th and I am hoping to receive a few recommendations for loops to request. We have requested a pop-up site in a pet friendly loop. Ideally I'd like to have an outer loop with some shade and space for kids to run around. Are there some loops that are better than others? Is there only 1 comfort station per loop? We'll be renting a golfcart so getting to the pool or trading posts aren't a problem.

Thanks!

Everyone gas a mind of which loop is better,,it mostly depends upon your needs, likes, wants and dislikes as to what suits you.
We like the 500 loop and 300 loop.

As far as pet friendly goes,,I've run into a few pets that werent too friendly at the Fort !
Oh wait,,that wasnt the dog, that was the owner,,,nevermind.

As you may have already gathered from the responses, some folks like to joke around with this type of question.

In order to help you out, we would need to know what level of site you reserved. There are four possibilities: Partial, Full, Preferred, or Premium. The type of site you reserved will limit the loops that you can choose from. The fact that you requested "a pop-up site in a pet friendly loop" won't get you into the 500 loop unless you reserved a premium site, or into the 300 loop unless you reserved a preferred site.

So, tell us what you reserved, and we can probably help you out with choosing a loop.

As for your comfort station question, one loop has two comfort stations- the 2000 loop, and some loops have none (the 700 loop and the 600 loop), so if having a comfort station nearby is important (which it probably is with a pop-up camper), that most definitely should be a consideration.

Thank you, I hadn't thought about the site designation. I believe that DH requested a Full Hookup site.

If you are in a Full Hookup, then your Loop Choices are 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900.

If you like isolation, then you want 1900. However, most sites in 1900 are very narrow. Not much room to "run around"

Otherwise most of us like 1700 as a first choice, then 1600 is our next choice.

I haven't seen too many opinions on 1800. All of those loops are Pet Loops.

As far as shade or sun, that is a tossup.

OK, now we can help you narrow this down.

As clkelley already pointed out, if your DH reserved a Full Hook Up site, then you will be limited to the 1600-1900 loops. These are the only Full Hook Up loops in the Fort, so you will be assigned to one of those four. If you are not sure about this, you should double check, as if the reservation is for a different type of site, you will not be assigned to any of these loops.

But, if it is definitely a Full Hook Up reservation, then here's my $.02:

If being close to a comfort station is important to you, then I would recommend the 1600 loop. There is a comfort station between 1600 and 1500 and also one between 1600 and 1800, so you have the best chance of being close to a comfort station on the 1600 loop.

As far as room to run around, both the 1600 and 1800 loops border a canal and pet walk area. You may not want to be close to the canal if your kids are small, and you are concerned about them getting in the water, but, otherwise, there is plenty of room to run around along the canal. This is also a good place to wet a line (fishing term). Also, the 1600 loop has the easiest access to the Meadow Recreation area, where there is a playground, tennis courts, shuffle board courts, and, of course, the Meadow Swimming Pool.

So, for you, I would say request 1600, and then either 1700 or 1800 as your second and third choices, and 1900 as your last choice.

You will have fun on any of these loops, so don't worry too much about it. They are all right next to each other, so while the 1600 loop is closer to the Meadow area, the others aren't that much further.

Happy Camping!
