I have seen the models in person, and the pictures don't do them justice. They really are quite lovely.

PamOKW --Did you notice when you go to the Map section of the site in you SSR link it says the resort will open May 1st.

No, I didn't see that May 1st date. The photos are all part of Doc's "history" of SSR as he's documented it coming to life. That may be an old date he put on in the early stages --- or he may know something more current. Doc -- can you comment?

I also forgot to put the link to DVC's section on SSR. It has some 360 animation and still pictures of the resort.

SSR Description

I can't seem to get a link directly to SSR but if you click on SSR's name in the write-up, the link will come as a pop-up.

I haven't seen the models myself but, as DisneyDoll says, these resorts always seem to look better in person. When photos first went up of AKL and VWL people were screaming about how they didn't like the decor. When they came back from seeing it in person, they were thrilled.

Doc has posted an update (from his vacation at OKW) that May 17, 2004 is the current projected opening date for SSR. His pictures have an old estimated date. Hope that clears up the confusion.
