I see that the tent sites are 1500 and 2000. Is there one that's preferred over the other? Also are there particular sites to try to avoid or request being close to loop entrance, etc.? I thought I read a great thread but cannot get the search to work for me.

Thanks so much.

Loop 1500 is in a GREAT location. It is very central in the campground, only has 21 sites, so no site is very far from the comfort station. The Meadows area with the movie, bike barn, trading post, and pool is right across the street.

The downside is that it is an older loop, so the sand areas are a bit on the small side for tent camping. There can be trees in bad places, and sometimes the grill is in a bad place.

Loop 2000 is out in the boonies, and it is a huge loop with 60 some-odd sites. There are two comfort stations though. However, if you need room to spread out with your tent gear, Loop 2000 is what you need.

We usually camp with 2 tents 1 being a 3 room for the kids and 1 normal size for us. It's like we have our own room. LOL.

Is there a place that lists sizes of the sites so I can figure out if we'd fit in 1500 as that sounds ideal.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, a database of site sizes is better guarded than Fort Knox!!

I know from personal experience that site 1503, 1517, and 1520 have good-sized pads. 1506 is TERRIBLE. There is also one further around the bend, (maybe 1515) with wood sides that probably won't work.

Just tell them the sizes of your tents and that you would like loop 1500, and hopefully they will assign you a site that will work.

If you get there and the site they assign you doesn't work, drive around both 1500 and 2000 and look for empty sites that will fit your stuff.

Thanks. Hopefully I can a) convince hubby and b) have site flexibility when arrive June 1....

DH prefers offsite. I found a great deal at Windsor Hills so they're comparable in price.

By the way. Do you like your T@B? I'm drooling. I've seen the tents that attach to the teardrops and thought 'hmmm'....but still have the boat issue. Sigh.

It's so cool though.

Thanks!! I LOVE my T@B!!! Although it does only sleep two, you would still need to throw up a tent for the kids!!
