I was sure this was in Typhoon lagoon but having looked at the map I can't see it anyway.

This was our first trip in 1995 (so it may look different now) and I really want to go back so can someone tell me where this is if it isn't Typhoon lagoon? We went snorkelling there and the water was freezing and totally clear.

Thank you!

I think they was a water park which closed down now, I don't know what it was called though I am sure someone will know. They have snorkling at Typhoon Lagoon though.

It's difficult to tell from your photos, but I'd say it looks more like River Country than Typhoon Lagoon. Check this out.

I am guessing it was River Country, although Typhoon Lagoon does have a shark reef.

I panicked there! No that's definitely not the River Country place. Just googled it and didn't recognise it at all. I did think it might be shark reef, but there wasn't a boat there (which is on the map) unless that was added?

No definitely not that one. It was a kind of closed off spot with huge trees and 'woods' surrounding it. Although it doesn't look like Shark Reef either, it was much bigger than that picture. It had a wooden walkway leading to the water in a queue type fashion (like a zig zag or maze type thing that rides have).

It could have changed since then though, was Shark Reef bigger in 1995?

Well that sounds like River Country. When you were actually there, it had a much more closed in feel than those ariel shots suggest.

I can't remeber there being any ride or slides anywhere near where we snorkelled though. I hope it's not RC, I really needed to go back there this trip. :(

Was it a water park at all? I am thinking it may have been Crystal River as they have swimming there and the manatees are nearby.

No shark reef has always been the same. Just swim across from one side to the other.

I don't think it was a water park no. I can't remember any rides or deck chairs or anything. Just a lagoon to snorkel in. Very quiet, peaceful and cold lol.

I've have a google of Crystal lake. my mum can't remember, but we did go for 5 weeks for the first time, to a lot of places so I'm not surprised! lol

I've just thought, we went to Clearwater for a few days. Is there something like that there?

Crystal River is up the coast from Clearwater so is possible you went there.
