I need a photopass for dummies explanation as I know nothing about it. I have seen the cute tink pics taken on main street mk and read something about a cd for 99 bucks but that is all I know. Once I have a dummies explanation I am sure the threads I have been searching will make more sense...THX!:sunny:

we used photopass in november.

every park has the photographers..the first time they take your pic they will scan a credit card sized card. you keep that. next you take a photo-give them the card-they scan it. all your photos are saved to the end of the trip.

if for some reason you forget your card in your room--just get a new one. when you go in at the end of your trip-they will put all your photos together-just give them all your cards (we ended up with 3).

so when you are ready to buy-go to any of the photo stores in the park. give them the cards & view your photos. you can buy singles or a package..or just get ALL of them on a cd for 99.00 and then print your own when you get home.

we just bought the cd as there were a few photos I wanted, and I like bigger photos..so it is cheaper to print at home. not to mention easier to get a cd home than it is photos!

hth!

If you opt not to buy the CD you can only purchase the single photos at the park that they were taken in.
For instance, we had a picture taken at Epcot which we decided we wanted to purchase, it was our last day at Disney and we were at MK, the CM informed us that if we wanted that picture we would need to go to Epcot to purchase it.
The upside of the photopass is that once you get home you can register on the site with your card number, view the pictures that were taken, and order them if you wish, or e-mail them to people.

Just had to say . . . . I love your Smarties picture, eh!!!! :thumbsup2

we looked at ALL of our photos at Epcot..and we could have purchased any of them there..we didn't have to go back to the park it was taken at.

How do you get all the neat things like the Tinkerbell added?
If you buy printed photos in the park, you can add characters, borders, and logos. However, those altered pictures won't be included if you buy the CD.

However, if you have a photo editing program on your computer, you can add Disney clip art (which can be found in abundance on the internet) to your photos and print them yourself.

we were just there a couple weeks..so i guess they have updated.

Last year we didn't buy any pictures until after we got home. Can the CD be ordered online as well?

We were there in Feb. and got some pics taken. We didn't really understand the photopass thing until; about halfway thru our trip. from that point we took some pics and waited till we got home. We logged on at home, chose the pics we wanted and added the extras like cool borders. It cost about $60.00, but it was worth it. A word of advice, if you are going, get a picture done on Mainstreet USA, the photog will take two pics, one he asks you to put your hands on top of another and look at them, then the second pic to look surprised. When we got home he had superimposed tink into the picture. It was great!

We just got back from WDW and do have some photopass pics that I wouldn't mind having but I'm not so sure I'm willing to pay the premium prices for them. A poster mentioned printing the pics at home so I'm just wondering how you managed to save/print the photopass pictures at home? Did you buy the CD or is there a way to save/print from the website you are given on your card?

TIA,

Amy

Once you register for photopass, you will be able to access all of the photos.
I believe you have either 30 or 60 days.
I believe it is initially 30 days then they offer an extension.
You can e-mail the photos to friends and family members or to yourself and print them off.
Or you can chose to save them to a file.

Daver - did you have to pay any duty on the pictures and was it $60 US or Cdn?

you can also get a dvd made with your photos and it is cheaper we paid $49 and it is really great you do it from home and when you get it you will be surprized it has four different parts all the parks with music and your pics also all the characters are in it and they walk into your pic and talk about it like nice pic why am i not in it goofy will come in and tear your pic up and laugh and then it will reapear behind him it is better then the cd . we found out about the cd from a cm at the photo shop where you check your pics.
