Can someone describe the taste of Amaretto to me? I'm thinking of buying it.

As you know, liqueurs are expensive so before I drop $30.00 I was wondering how it tastes. I love grand marnier and kahlua.

Hi! I think Amaretto has a really sweet, almond flavour. It's goooood.

It's a sweet almond flavor. It is to almond flavor as Grand Marnier is to orange flavor.

If you like sweet liqueur and almond flavor, you'll like it.

It's very good in coffee, especially cappuccino. If you pour it over rocks in a short glass and top it with seltzer, it tastes similar to cream soda. It's also nice in orange juice. :)

LOVE amaretto!! sweet almond flavor...one of my favorite basic cocktails is an Amaretto Sour.

Amaretto Stone Sours are delicious as well! Amaretto (Disaronno if you are not on a budget), orange juice and sour mix. Yum!

Yummy!!!!! I love Amaretto (only drink Disaronno). I like to drink amaretto with pineapple juice. It's so sweet and yummy. Amaretto sours are good too! I need to get a bottle too as I am out.

You got that right, Tikilyn.

When buying/drinking liquers, you gotta go with the original brands. Di Saronno for amaretto, Bailey's for Irish cream, Sambuca Romana for sambuca. The imposters don't cut it!

Yummy almond! And not as strong a liquor taste or burn as other drinks. I love Di Saronno on the rocks with a twist of lime. YUMMY! Also great with club soda, with kahlua and cream, with Baileys and cream... Lots of great ways to enjoy it.

Amaretto tastes just like marashino cherry juice...it is SOOOOO yummy!!!

Definitely my kind of "Cherry Coke"!!!;)

If you like Amaretto, you will LOVE Frangelico. It is a hazelnut liquor. On cold nights, take a brandy snifter and pour very hot water into it-swirl it around to heat up the glass. Dump out the water, add a shot of Frangelico. The vapors alone are heavenly!

The bottle's cute, too.;)

ohhh...bad memories of Amaretto, that's my one 'can't drink'...
can you say too many flaming Dr. Pepper shooters?!?!?:sick:

Deeeeeee-lightful, that's how it tastes! It reminds me of like liquid almond cookies, kinda. It's one of the few liquors I could conceivably see myself kicking back and slugging down straight out of the bottle. (j/k..... but not really. ;) )

This thread is giving me a SERIOUS hankerin' for some Amaretto. NOW. It is a tragedy that I don't get off work for another 5 hours.

I'm a fan of Frangelico, but it has a much stronger nutty taste, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone liked Amaretto, but not Frangelico.

If you don't want to spend the money on something you've never tried, I thought this stuff was pretty good for about $10. It might not be quite the same, but it's pretty close, so it will give you a good idea if you like that flavor or not.
