Hey All

So here is the deal. We bought our tickets online and choose the email option so they emailed us the tickets basically it is a bar code to be scanned at the park. We got 4 parks in 4 days no hopper. We ARE NOT staying on site.

So after researching the magic band I plan to stay away from that as my wife and I wont be back again for probably 5 years minimum,

So here is where I need clearing up.

I wanted to setup my fast pass rides and the lady I called at the park told us you can do that now in the my Disney exp and then when you get to the gate of the first park you go to they will scan your barcode in your email and then you will be given a plastic card that will have those loaded on to it already and each day you will not need your barcode on the phone just have the next park scan your card.

Then a person on a facebook group said that is wrong. You will go scan your barcode then have to find a visitors center to get the plastic card and each day for the new park you will have to rinse and repeat and get a new card.

Can someone tell me who has been recently who is giving me the right info? The park or the facebook lady

From whom did you buy the tickets?

1. OK.
2. That's true if you are 30 days or less until the day(s) that you will actually be in the park(s.)
3. True.
4. Not true. (Not exactly, anyway.)
Your FPs will remain "in" your MDX account and your plastic ticket will "access" those
FPs from your MDX account when you scan the plastic ticket at each of the ride's (that you booked) FP entrance.
5. True.
6. You can IGNORE that information, 100%.

Great thanks, I bought my tickets through the disney site itself on the my experience website

Does the Fast Past really make up that big a difference? Cause I noticed you have to pick times but how realistic is it to make it on exactly that time?

1. That's fine.
2. Depending on which attractions you choose, it can make a huge difference in waiting in line.
3. Once booked, the time you book is just the BEGINNING of a "window" of time.
Most FPs (nearly all RIDE FPs) are valid for a one-hour window (plus a grace period of 5 min. BEFORE the booked time and 15 min. AFTER the chosen end of the window.

So, as an example, you choose Space Mountain at 10:30AM. That FP will be valid any time between 10:30AM and 11:30AM (plus the grace periods that I mentioned.)

It will help you tremendously to read the first several posts in the "FastPass+ Frequently Asked Questions" sticky thread at the top of this forum.

would you rather wait in line for 60 minutes or 10-15 minutes? I am guessing 10-15 minutes Yes the FP does help you can get a lot done with it

there is a thread on how to use the FP system I would check it out It can save you hours of waiting in line unless you just really like to wait in lines.

That's a question that tells me you haven't done a lot of research on rides and wait times at Disney. Not being snarky or trying to be rude, just an observation. Wait times on some rides are 3-4 hours long. FP wait times at the most can be 20 minutes depending on how many are coming through at a time. It's VERY realistic to make said time if you plan accordingly. When I had to book our first FPs back in 2015, I was a little annoyed that I had to do so. I liked going to the FP machine outside of the ride and then getting my FP for a return time later. Once there at Disney I was VERY thankful for our ressies, especially seeing the stand by wait times. I don't pay the money I do to stand in line on one ride for one hour. I've got plenty other things I can be doing in that hour. If I'm trying to cool off or get away from the "crowd" then I will absolutely do a stand by line that has an inside queue if I see a wait around 30 minutes. That's my limit on stand by. There are stories of people who go to Disney and said they had a miserable time standing in lines all the time, only getting to ride 3 or 4 rides in one park. So YES....Fast Pass really DOES make that big a difference! :thumbsup2

FP+ makes a tremendous difference. Especially for more popular rides, you can save yourself, literally, hours of waiting in lines to go on rides. As Robo pointed out, you are really scheduling a window of time to use your FP+. Though it will state your window is an hour long, it's really about 1 hour and 20 minutes long - starting 5 minutes before the start time and lasting 15 minutes after the end time - so, yes, it's quite doable to get to your FP+ attraction in time. Plus, you can look for a 4th, then 5th, then 6th, etc. after you use your initial 3. I would highly recommend linking your tickets and making your FP+ 30 days prior to visiting each park. Once you get your plastic RFID card at guest services on your first park visit, you are good to go for your trip. Download the MDE app on your phone and you will be able to see your FP+ and even modify and add as you go.
