that WDW Betsy recommended? I know the agent is supposed to be a Disney Specialist. I need to have a great AAA agent check something for me concerning my current package. Not sure mine is doing anything...

Unfortunately, you have to use a AAA agent from your region.

Otherwise everyone would book through a AAA agent in Orlando for Disney packages.

That's not true. People have been using one in SC and in CA that are not in their regions. I was looking for the great one in SC that WDW Betsy used. She is a Disney Institute graduate.

No, you don't. I live in Kentucky and used an agent in New Jersey. Unfortunately, I don't feel like I got any better service than I would have gotten from the clueless AAA TA's here in Kentucky.

I really wish I had just booked on my own with CRO once the financial incentive disappeared (free dining - checking in tomorrow!)

Denise, are you looking for Michelle Shears? 1-800-643-5332. She's the one I've seen a lot of people recommending.

I tried calling her yesterday and she was out of the office due to a death in her family. Not sure if she's back yet or not.

But - I did speak with Jan there, and she checked to see if the code could be applied for AKL for our dates. Unfortunately, not....

Just an FYI.. :-) I love Michelle!

The AAA TA that I called yesterday that was not able to get me any better deal than I got fom the website just called me. He said he got a room at a different resort. I told him that I was not interested. But I had him check a few things...

There are AAA room-only rates for the days I am looking for, but he swears he can not get any better deal than the published Nov/Dec discount. So pretty much he said there is not any additional discount available through AAA at this time. Just all the extra junk in their package. Seems so silly. But once you add their insurance to the room only rate it is only dollars different than the current special though.

But if you go through AAA you can add the dining plan and keep your discount! For me, the AAA rate was the same or better than the discount. I'd go with the AAA, get the dining, and quit worrying about it. Good luck!

Triplefigs the agent you are looking for is mine also....she is out of town. She is wonderful by the way. I spoke with the covering TA...Jan and she is the one who let me know the same thing your agent did. I think if I am willing to change resorts I can get a better discount but at this point I have decided $80 is not worth it. I will continue to check the internet WDW site to see if availability changes....but at least you know your agent is telling you the truth :)

The same advice given to me by my husband :)

I booked with Michelle Shears just last week and then called her back yesterday to have her see if I could apply the discount. They said she was out on a family emergency and gave me Jan. I gave her my info she hung up called disney and then called me back about 20 minutes later and had disney on the other line to verify everything with me and I got the discount!! (10 nights at pop in Nov. with dining!!) Jan was great also I would recommend her too!!

Thanks, all. Glad to know I'm at least getting accurate info. I will use them for booking our next trip. I appreciate the help!

LisaRay your post makes me feel so much better! They really are telling me the truth :) Sometimes you worry they are just telling you stuff so they don't have to change your reservation. So Triplefigs I guess we went and picked Resorts that are just to Awesome during the Holidays! Hopefully it is wonderful for all of us...I need it right now.
