This sounds like a lot of fun! I was thinking of a weekend getaway for the husband and I. I saw that it runs for several weeks. Are any weeks more desireable than others? What are all the happening surrounding this event? Do any of the onsite hotels do anything special? I really want to experience the other hotels but I'm scared I'll be dissappointed after the level of service I've rec'd at PBH. I would only consider it because it's just "us" and not the entire family. I would like advise on which club levels you might perfer and why. Can't wait to hear what you have to say on this.

We'll be there for MG and I wondered if you have to buy a special pass for it or does regular admission get you into all the festivities (whatever they may be!)

We have the premuim ap with no black out dates. And so far as I know there are no special tickets to purchase for this event. Kinda like grinchmas and the macy's parade it comes with admission.

Does anyone Know if the Concerts are going to be BEFORE the Parade or AFTER?

More Mardi More Party.... The event is a very basic set up. I have been to everyone since 98 and I have gone to the event around 25 times. The event is similar to the HHN's Parades at Universal, after the parade a band would play and people would either go to that or see a Horror House.

You don't need a special ticket to see it, its part of regular admission. That is the only reason AP Holders get in free. The parade usually starts at 8pm and it runs about 20 minutes, they toss out beads and coins. Confetti falls from the sky and people have a good time. They have food stops around Hollywood that sells traditional New Orleans food and I heard that the Emeril supervised the menus last year. Then they have the concert and that is usually packed I don't know why they don't have any groups worth seeing. I seen Journey in 1998 they were the only big band I can say I have ever listened to they have had. They usually have old bands and performers come, although they did have Hootie and The Blow Fish and Blues Traveler which are new bands.

Hopefully that helps answer the question.

A couple of years ago the B52s played at Mardi gras. I would have liked to have seen them but we had tickets for Duran Duran at the house of blues for two nights. now THAT was a good concert (concerts) :) :) :)
