Not inside the park, but at the resorts, are photographers allowed to have paid photo sessions with families?

I'm guessing so many people have camera equipment that no one would really notice, but I was curious about any sort of policy that is known.

I would love to be able to work a few sessions for the experience and to cover my upgrade to a Deluxe and add a few days to my trip. ;)

Professional photographers are allowed to do shoots at all resorts and downtown Disney there are quite a few that work with Disney weddings and honeymoons so they know all the rules I would visit the weddings board the girls there can give you lots of suggestions. I am a huge fan of randy chapman feel free to PM me with questions I am a Disney bride I did pictures at downtown Disney, Polynesian, contemporary, boardwalk, art of animation, wilderness lodge and the swan I was able to hit all these places through 2 separate sessions one for engagement and one for the wedding

Thanks for the info!

My initial plan was trying to work in more days at Disney by using the excuse that I have to work w/ my husband, but we just went out to eat and he said, "Why are we leaving on a Tuesday when I am off work from Saturday until then anyway? Is it too late to add those days?"

Heck No!
SCORE!

:cheer2:

Trying to get this straight. You are a photographer and would like to do a few jobs on property to make some extra money, correct?

I'm not sure if Disney allows this, I know there would be an issue in a park, but how are you going to line up these jobs? Do you have a local connection with a local photographer? I'm just confused on how you expect to find these clients?

I haven't really given any of it much thought, but assumed there would be a lot of folks in my area headed down at the same time during the holidays. During the summers there are always folks around that want beach photos and love when I head to the beach at the same time.

I was more curious to know if Disney had rules about it. Not inside the parks, though, but around the resorts.

I was just trying to figure out how to add more days to the trip, but I've been given the go-ahead and I'm quickly forgetting about having to work.

We just got back from 10 days at Disney, and had professional photos scheduled while we were there. We had a choice where we wanted our photos done (resort of our choice or Epcot), and we chose a private shoot at Epcot. We met the two ladies at the back gate at 7:45am, and literally were the only ones in the park! We took some stunning photos in world showcase (again, the countries of our choice) and couldn't have been more pleased. Pricy, yes, but TOTALLY worth it! We used Disney Fine Art Photography & Video.

Oh, but they work for Disney. Ya know, though.. while I take many family photos.... my own family doesn't have any. I'm going to check into them. Thanks!

I know that Disney is not going to allow you to solicit guests on WDW property - Disney doesn't even let the photopass photographers approach guests. Getting caught would mean a very abrupt end to your trip. And I think that if you're going to approach guests at WDW, you're going to have a very high chance of getting caught. I'm generally a live and let live kind of girl, but if you approached me, I would be pretty annoyed. I would also assume that the chances of you being a scammer were pretty high.

We had engagement photos done by an outside photographer at the Grand Floridian. It's really common and no rules against it. Just rules against it in the parks.

We're using Disney Fine Art Photography in December though and are scheduled at Hollywood Studios during morning extra hours. :)

I would never approach guests. I don't even hand out business cards around here unless the topic comes up and I'm asked for one.

Definitely not what I meant by the initial post. I was just trying to stretch my trip out, and I'm sure there are locals here headed down to Disney for the holidays. I see it on my FB all the time. I was just gonna say something about it on my FB wall to see if any clients here were gonna be there. But.. I've added my days, so it's not a big deal. I will still probably mention where I'll be on my FB. Whether someone inquires or not isn't a big deal.

Sounds like a win-win for you and your clients. You may get some great shots for your book. :thumbsup2
