What are the current COVID rules for older kids riding on rides without an adult/parent? Are there some rides that they can ride together without my husband or I riding? If so, can one of us still wait in line with them until they get on? Is there an age requirement? I’m not saying that we are planning on doing this. I just want to be prepared and know what the rules are in case they ask about it.

Kids over 7 can ride with other kids. Under 7 needs someone 14 or over. Anyone can wait in the standby line and then exit before riding.

That initial page addresses entering the parks. To see the afe requirement to ride (under 7 must have someone over 14) you will need to click the link the link that takes you to additional rules. Over 7 can ride alone, stand in line alone, wait at the end of the line alone, if you desire.
oops, good catch

Our kids were 8 and 9 on our last trip and loved being able to ride on their own. We weren't comfortable with them going through lines on their own but they always had their own Dumbo or Doom Buggy or other ride vehicle. One thing to be aware of is that the CM will ALWAYS ask their age so they should be prepared if they tend to get shy or flustered easily. My kids were caught off guard the first time or two, but after the first day they'd happily call out their ages as soon as they hopped on.
