Can My 7 Year Old Be an "Adult"

I am going next year, and have free regular dining.
We went this past summer with the same deal, and several times my daughter really wasn't satisfied with the amount she ate from the kid's selections at the TS meals.

Looking at the ticket prices, it would only be another $20 to upgrade her to an adult park ticket.
If I do this, I assume it will also entitle her to adult dining choices.

Has anyone ever tried this, and did you encounter any problems?

There are lots of people on the boards who do just that. It simply requires you registering him as 10 for the trip, and then paying the price of adults tickets (and dining plan if you're buying it rather than getting it free).

You can even up his age after the booking (but before the trip) by simply giving them a call. They do this all the time.

We upgraded our dd for our upcoming trip. I just flat out told the CM that she is 9 at the time of travel and would rather have adult meals. He contacted his supervisor and upgraded her to an adult. Easy peasy.

However...the only way to upgrade them to an adult is to register them as 10 on your reservation. Even if you tell them "my kid is 9 and wants adult meals" the child will be registered as 10 and you'll buy an adult ticket on a package.

I'm curious what do people that move their kids to "adults" do when they eat at buffets or other fixed-price meals? Do they "pay" for their child as a 10-year old Disney adult or do they say their child is 7 (or 8 or 9) and then use an adult credit? Just curious, in case we want to take that route in 2012 or 2013.

When I was making my reservation I tried to do this for our children and "Leon" said there was no way. I thanked him. Hung up and called back immediately and the next CSR I got was more then happy to make the change.

You just tell your server that you are using your adult dining credits for each one of your party that has paid as an adult. For example my family is me, DH, DD17 and DS8 who will be 9 on our next trip. We have upgraded him to adult. Our cards will show 4A instead of 3A 1C. When we go to use our credits they will know there are 4 adult credits to use. If there is a problem you will see it before hand on the bill and can have them correct it.
