My daughter is 10 so she is considered an adult by disney standards. Most of the places we are eating at are buffets but a few are family style (Garden Grill, Ohana). Can my 10 yr old ask for more of the kid food? I also have a son who is 7 so we will have one "child" with us.

You will have to pay for her an an adult on the buffets or family style places but she may order from the kid's menu (like at 'Ohana). If you are at a regular TS restaurant she may order off the kid's menu and you only have to pay the kids pricing.

If on the DDP, you'll pay adult pricing for her but she'll be able to order what she wants even from the kids menu! If OOP you can order a childs meal anywhere, adults can too, other than buffets where you would pay adult price but she would be able to eat whatever she wants including food typically designated for kids but available to all.

Thanks! I should have mentioned that we are on the dining plan (free dining actually) so I am not worried about paying for it, I just wanted to make sure there would be some stuff she would like. Neither one of my kids are really picky eaters but may not eat some of the stuff offered on the adult menu.

My DD is a "Disney Adult" and we stretched our TS credits by paying OOP for some of her meals that she ordered off the kids menu and used those credits for more expensive buffet meals.

Our son is 13 years old and was able to order items from the kids' menus this past May/June.

Even though you got the dining plan for free, you did give up a discount on the room to get the free dining.
So in a way you did pay for it.

You can ask for an adult portion of something on the kids menu, some places will give this to you.

You can also pay for the kids meal OOP and use the adult credit for something else, like a 2TS restaurant.
