Next years trip DD will be 10 and when looking at menus of places we want to eat there is some places where I know she would rather the kids meal. Not only that but we want to go to Yachtsmand and there is no way she would eat a 12oz strip steak or a piece of prime rib the size I see in the reviews. So would she be able to order off of the kids menus? Also do places frown upon sharing? I know they are interested in trying Tonys but the kids meal does nothing for my then 9 yo and 10 yo they want chicken parm would them sharing that be a no no.

We will not be getting the DDP so we won't be bound by that. We did the DDP the first time we went and were thinking of doing the DxDDP only because we want to try so many 2 ts credit places but there is no way we would eat that much.

Anyone can order off the kids menu. I have heard of adults paying a little extra, but we've never done it so I can't speak from experience. But I don't know if a 10 year old would be charged more, either way.

You're in luck!

There is no issue with a 10 year old ordering off of the children's menu and there is also no issue with sharing entrees at Disney.

my ds has done this and he usually just get an adult portion of what he has ordered from kids menu. Now that I'm thinking back we did this at CRT.

Just what I wanted to hear and my kids will be overjoyed. We did the DDP last year and 2 of my 3 kids were not happy with a lot of their choices. A few times we paid OOP for them to get something else and while it saved us money it didn't feed us the way we would have liked. So now I know that the kids can order whatever and not have to worry about them either having way too much food or not enough choices.

Now to convince DH to atleast eat breakfast in the villa and we can eat well and save some money.

We order from the kids menu for my 12 year old and never have any problems. We usually ask tell the waiter, "He's 12 but doesn't like the adult choices-can he get a kids meal?" and they always say yes. A lot of the time, he will get an adult size portion (I remember the LTT especially). They are usually very willing to help you out.

DD will be 10 soon and weighs 57 pounds. She still cannot finish a kid's meal at a restaurant. :lmao: There is no way she'd want what's on the adult menu. The last time we ate at Chefs de France, she ordered a kid's side salad, which I think cost about $3 and that's ALL she wanted. The TS restaurants never batted an eye.

You would think that anyone can order off the kid's menu. The kid's meals are not discounted in any way. Yes, you pay less, but you get less food. You are simply paying less for less food, whereas the adult menu you are paying more for more food & more options. It's like ordering a small drink instead of a large. The small drink is cheaper, but you're getting less. Either way you are paying for the "goods" you received.

So logically thinking anyone should be able to order off the kid's menu, but who knows if they allow it, especially with adults??
