Can mickey make a guest appearance?

Okay - I figured I post this on the Weddings and Honeymoon boards -- my son wants to ask his girlfriend to marry him ...this will occur on the Wonder on the August 17th cruise. My husband thought a vow renewal for us might be a good "distraction": from the main event which would be my son asking his girlfriend to marry him. Based on past threads I see the VR is a very expensive undertaking and perhaps even too late to book for this August. We would be perfectly happy to have Mickey himself come over to our table (when we are Animator's Palate of course) - give his "blessing" to me and my DH (more a symbolic VR) and then my son will drop to his knees and pop the questions. Perhaps we could have staff photographer involved. Anyone ever heard of this taking place.....any sorta contact info; cost, etc. thanks for all your help everyone and have a magical day!

It is not too late to book a VR.

I've heard different versions on Disney helping with proposals, I think the official line being that they won't, but if you find a helpful CM on the boat it might be possible.

I recently traveled on the Disney wonder and witnessed a proposal. It was the cutest thing and might make this easy for you if your idea doesn't pan out...

In the main atrium of the cruise ship, there are characters all the time taking photos. You will be able to find this information on the Daily Personal Navigator that is delivered to your stateroom every night.

On the night that Mickey is there for photographs, have you and your husband take a photo with Mickey, then your son and girlfriend... Have them 1st take a picture together and without any warning have him get down on his knee and propose... It will be cool cause the photographer will catch her surprised expression. It will be a nice memory and right after that moment you could go to your dinner to celebrate.
