We are thinking of doing a day trip over to Vero to check out the resort, and if the weather is nice we would like to use the pool. Can this be done?
Thanks
I would just call the front desk now.. I seriously doubt they will have a problem with it. Eevn if they did.... Follow someone through the pool gate, keep your card handy, show it if asked (you won't be). They are VERY casual. They might have a problem if you showed up every day for a week, but they won't have a problem with a day. Also just fyi your KTTW card will work there for charging, so you won't even need cash.
I would think this very much depends on how busy the resort is at that particular time. As spiceycat says I think it is vital that you talk to the Vero front desk before taking on the drive. I would also ask them if they could fax you with the "permission" to use the facilities. I'd be REALLY mad if I drove all the way there to find the person who OKAYed the idea had gone for the day and the people on shift said I wasn't allowed.
It can be a LONG drive, if you wanted to check out the resort I think you'd be much better served to book into the resort for one night ( you can use the facilities for 2 days that way) and make it a much more relaxed experience. I'm not sure a day trip would allow you to view the resort in it's best light JMHO.

The "offical" policy has been that VB is not included in PH. However some have been allowed and others turned away. I'd call VB and talk to a supervisor and get their name if they say it's OK.

This is actually our plan, but as of now there aren't any rooms available at Vero. We are thinking about doing this during President's week, and I have called MS & CRO and they both have no availablitiy. I did find some rooms on destinationOrlando.com but I wasn't sure how reliable that site was.
Depending on our plans, if the days free up as we expect them too, we may call last minute and see how the availablity is.
Thanks for all the tips!

DVC members cannot pool hop at all 2/20/05 through 2/26/05. If you can't get a room at VB, you may want to re-think your plan. Here is some info copied from the DVC Members' website:
Resort hotel pools may become unavailable from time to time because of capacity limitations. Due to expected high occupancy, Disney Vacation Club Members may not "pool hop" during the following dates*:
February 20 - 26, 2005
March 19 - 27, 2005
May 27 - 30, 2005
June 27 - July 4, 2005
September 2 - 5, 2005
November 21 - 27, 2005
December 17, 2005 - January2, 2006
*Other restricted dates may be added based on projected pool capacity.
Thank you Carol - I knew we could not pool hop on WDW property during President's week, but it never occured to me that it would apply to VB as well. This may be the final "kebosh" on our plan to make the road trip over to VB!
