Hi gang! We are planning a nice week long vacation in October for my brother and I's 40th birthday. We have several close friends that want to come out and celebrate with us by going to Pleasure Island. I am wondering if there are any rules that DVC has about having local friends come out to the resort to visit us while were are there. Is there any rule that says that can't?

You can have friends visit you at your DVC resort, just keep the other guests in mind. Like, don't have a big loud party that goes on into the night when other guests are sleeping. I'm sure you wouldn't do that.

They won't be able to use the pool unless you get permission. Depends on the number of guests already at the pool and whether or not the life guard and front desk allow it.

A party in the room isn't happening if I have any say in it. I think the plan is to have everyone meet at the resort, let the kids swim a little in the afternoon to wear them out, then leave the kids with a sitter and the gang grab the boat over to DTD for dinner and Pleasure Island.

Outside of BCV it really shouldn't be a problem, jmho. If you have "slots" left on your room (e.g., a 2-bedroom sleeps 8) then you could add their name to the reservation. Nobody cares if they aren't sleeping there when they go to the pool.

I've had guests visit me any number of times while staying at a DVC resort. Sometimes they've stayed overnight.

I've never had a problem with my guests using the pool, or any other resort accomodation. I simply tell the front desk that I have guests, how many they are, if they'll be staying over or not, and go from there.

Even when staying at BCV and using SAB, I've never had a problem.

My cousin lives in Orlando and she and her husband and their 3 little girls always come and visit us at our resort for a day. It has never been a problem. It's a nice way for us to get to visit with them. When we stay at BCV we go to the quiet pool because they do have very strict rules regarding SAB.
