I think I already know the answer, but I want to make sure with all of you experts:thumbsup2 . Are we allowed to take in little snacks such as raisins, crackers, our own water, etc. Since there will be long lines, I just want to make sure I am prepared for any meltdowns. Any info is much appreciated! We leave tomorrow and I am so excited~!

Absolutely. As a matter of fact, the only thing I have heard of them not allowing would be anything in glass, and then if you try to bring in ingredients, like to make a sandwich. But the sandwich already made is okay with them.

Yes..

I take all sorts of snacks and a water bottle all the time.

Have fun,

Have Fun! How exciting! I would love to go tomorrow too. :)

Yes, you may take snacks into the park. Matter of fact, you can take your lunch in too. As well as soft sided coolers, to hold said lunch and snacks. Just no glass is allowed.

So have a fun, magical time visiting Dl. tomorrow and enjoy your snacks too! :)

We take in Tacos from Taco bell. They don't say anything. As long as the food is already prepared.. as a previous poster said

LUnchables and readymade slaads are a favorite in our family

we always take string cheese! when we were there at christmas..we saw quite a few families sitting on benches eatting homemade sandwiches..more than we have seen in the past. Juice boxes are also another thing we bring in.:goodvibes

I noticed the same thing on our trip--lots more people eating food that they had obviously brought with them rather than purchased in the parks. A sign of the economy I guess... you can manage to scrape together the money for the tickets and the accomodations (if necessary), but $10-15 a person for lunch is out of range. I have to admit that it made me a little sad, but it's better to be there and eating sandwiches from home than to not be at DLR at all!

I almost always bring in some snacks (pretzels, etc.) in ziplocs as well as Diet Cokes (in cans) and a water bottle. Never had a problem.

We take snacks and water bottles in. No problems at all!!! No glass is allowed and you are not able to take sandwich fixings but you can take ready made sandwiches if you wanted to. In fact, DBF and I were talking about doing that, we have enough $$$ and we have gift cards etc but since we have AP's and want to go again soon with the kiddos (we are thinking end of Jan or early Feb) it would be smart of us to save some of that $$ for that trip. :) Since our first hotel doesn't have a fridge in the room and the parks are open late those 2 days I think we will make a Target run on Monday, grab a few things to eat and have a few lunches on the cheap. :)

Ah, I love Target!

Might I suggest one trying their (By Archer Farms, Target brand) Chocolate Monkey Mix. Recently the mix has been changed a bit, however it is still very tasty, and I love it.

For us it's b/c so much of the food there is such cruddy quality. They sell Uncrustables for kids, and those are loaded with corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup, which my family cannot have AT ALL. The snacks like caramel apples, again, corn syrup. Mickey bars? Corn syrup. The list of junk goes on and on. We can't even have dole whips b/c of corn syrup solids!

So especially for DS we bring in outside food, hubby and I share meals bought there (b/c the portions are so big), and have fun with the few things DS can have like the cookies (even though it's possible their vanilla in the cookies has corn syrup or even HFCS it hasn't noticeably affected DS), safe chocolate covered bananas, and lattes for me and DH.

mmmmm that sounds good!!!!!! I will definitely have to look for that! I like Target too, I worked there for 6 years. :)

Yep - for sure! We've brought lunch in several times in the past week - they check the bags at security and no mention is made of the food. The only thing I've heard is on the tram ride from the parking structure the recording asks you to consume outside food in the picnic area just outside of the park (I think they don't want you to take up a table in the restaurant areas). We just find an out of the way bench or a quiet spot on the ground and eat - hasn't been a problem at all.

we even bring in the prepackaged small bags of chips. . . My philosophy on the water is why pay three times more if you can bring it with you. . .i actually almost have us drinking nothing but water the entire time we are there.. . I have had to give up the churros. . they make me itch. . . I know wierd, but at least I can still have the popcorn (why can't we make it past those things without the temptation of grabbong some popcorn to munch on??)

I am sorry to hear that churros make you itch. I can only figure that you have a food allergy. Possibly to more than one ingredient too. But that is o.k. Because there are so many foodie items to choose from. :)
I very much like Disneyland's pop corn too.

I would love to own Target! I would make some changes. :)

Ya, after working there for so long I'd make a few too. LOL

We drink water much of the time we are there too. We just refill our bottles in the First Aid Station or at Rancho. The First Aid Station tastes better but sometimes we are just closer to Rancho. :) Sorry you can't have the churros.....those are my favorites!!!! I love them! And the popcorn too, yum!!!!

Last year (summer of 08 so not technically last year yet) we were at an A's game. We were eating churros and ice cream bars, we played a little game, the 4 of us. We would ask "what's better, churros at the A's game or churros at DL?" (we switched out churros with ice cream, popcorn, pizza, whatever we could think of) and the answer was always DL! LOL The people behind us were cracking up, they thought that was the funniest thing they'd ever heard. What's even funnier....after that game we drove home, tossed some clothes in a bag, jumped in the car and drove to DL! LOL Stayed for 1 day only but man, it was FUN!!!!! :)

Pixie,

All of that driving, I am glad that you have a very trustworthy car. :)
Poor little guy, making all of those trips. he he!
I have thought many a time, about driving to So.Ca. however, to be honest, I have not driven any further from San Francisco from Sonoma,County.
When I think about driving not only that far, but in traffic (I have in mind LA) I become uptight over the thought. So most definitely kudos to you and your DBF, for having nerves of steel man, really. :) (Sigh)

Our car is very trustworthy but for that trip we had a rental. I had been in a car accident earlier that week and my van was in the shop for repairs, so that trip we put the miles on the rental and not my car. :) Made us happy. lol And yes, he does most of the driving, it's not really that bad until you hit the Grapevine, and that's really only in winter. LA is a mess but once you know what you're doing it's easy. Heck I went into Hollywood and still found my way back 5. LOL

I think that is a good idea, to rent a car too. That way, it does save miles and wear and tear on one's car. I have an older little guy. And I like the idea of placing the above on a rental car instead.
I like that, that is too funny in a good way! he he! Regarding finding your way back from LA. :)
