can it get any worse

Sorry to hear your bad news.I hope everything works out ok for you and your family :goodvibes .

Lyndon.

:grouphug: Oh Ali, how awful, my best wishes to you all.

Your Dad will need to make sure he is not travelling against medical advice and it would be wise to ask his consultant to put this in writing for him to take with him. The insurers and the airline may need to see written confirmation of this.

By July he will have found out a lot more about his condition and treatment so will be in a better position to judge how to proceed.

With regards to insurance, both my parents have PEMCs and are insured with Norwich Union. We have also recently changed our travel policy to them and they were happy to cover our assortment of PEMCs too at a competitive rate. Your best bet is to shop around as there is a big variation in how insurance companies treat medical conditions.

I really hope it all works out OK for you.

Sorry to hear your very sad news. I hope your Dad is able to go on the holiday and enjoy himself. Hugs for you and your family :grouphug:

think all your pixiedust: pixiedust: must be working :grouphug:

got the all clear today for Mum and Dad to travel with us. They will never be okay but consultants reckon the break will do them good. roll on July :wizard: all we have to do now is sort out the insurance

:grouphug: to everyone

That's great news Ali - hope you get your insurance sorted and have a magical holiday :)

Have been keeping an eye on everyone's threads and have just seen you're good news! I'm so happy for you all

Yay! That's great news :cool1: Having something so positive to focus on will help your Mom and Dad to keep their chin up too.
Don't forget to make those Disney ADRs soon to save you guys having to queue too long in restaurants hoping for a table. :)

:wave2: I've only just seen this thread Ali, and I'd like to join in with everyone else with good wishes. I hope you get the insurance sorted out at a reasonable price. Some friends of mine in their late 70's with medical conditions were pleased with the deal they got from the AA (www.theaa.com or 0800 085 7240). Good luck with getting it sorted out.

Delighted to hear you can all go on holidays

This will give your Dad something to look forward to and stop him worrying too much about his illness hopefully

Be sure and make a great holiday out of it

Not sad at all Ali, sounds like you need a good break, hopefully you'll get reasonable quotes and it'll all be hunky dory, as an earlier poster said make ADR's even if you're not sure you'll use them, if it saves on you hanging around it'll be worth it. :wizard:

Of all the time we have been to florida we have never done ADR's before but DS is deperate to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood so might have a bash at doing it this time. Have never stayed on sight before either so that will be fab also. :goodvibes

Last year was my first time on site as well, it sold me, I'd never stay off site again

Have a fantastic holiday and be sure to 'shop around' for your parent's travel insurance :sunny:

We had quotes of anything between £670 and £88 for DH's benign brain tumour :rolleyes1

Obviously we went with the £88 quote which just so happened to be Age Concern :thumbsup2

Have fun :wizard: :grouphug:
