So my daughter, who is 19, was asking about our July trip to WDW. I am a planner and plan everything, but especially dinners. So she realized that I did not plan a dinner for one of our nights, which led to a conversation about which parks on which days, reviewing our ADR's, etc. She said to try and book BOG for lunch. It was available, but I did not book it. Then she said to look up CRT. I said no way would there be any openings. I was wrong!! I just booked an early dinner at CRT in July for 5 people. Seriously? How can that be?

She is beyond excited!

We're still about 4 months away from July, I'm sure it will just keep getting filled up. Congrats on your CRT ressie and upcoming trip. :flower1:

I'm still amazed but I am not complaining!
This trip will be me, DD, DS 17, my boyfriend and his DS 13. First trip for the 13 yr old. My DD called him last night to make sure dining at CRT would be okay or would he rather BOG. He said CRT would be fun, even though all the Princesses would be there. Our ADR is at 4:15pm, so I know the kids will be making a food stop somewhere along the way since MK is scheduled to be open until midnight.

Our other ADR's are Chef Mickeys, Germany, Raglan Road and Ohana. I think it is a good mix.

I'm so glad they put a stop to that. I've noticed a lot better availability since they stopped it.

that and no free dining has helped with getting ADRs

There's no comparison between planning a trip for this April versus planning one for last November (free dining) or even last May (what felt like the height of the reservation notification companies). We have yet to plan a trip at 180 days--I remember for last November in particular, the cancellation thread was dozens and dozens of pages. Posters were constantly begging for reservations, asking for trades, all kinds of unapproved posts. This April there are a couple pages of cancellations, and I haven't really had to search for any reservations (unless we're counting the ROL FP+/dining possibilities...). It's almost like planning meals for my vacation isn't my full-time job this time around! :rotfl2:

OP, I hope you have an amazing time at CRT! We got lucky and found a breakfast ADR while we were booking our FP+ reservations at 60 days, and felt pretty surprised too. We'll try to leave the castle in good shape

I think that all these are great choice, I would like to comment on Biergarten in the Germany pavilion. The inside is just beautiful - Octoberfest year around, the show and service wonderful. They have one of my favorite Riesling there. We have always enjoyed dinning here, but our last dinning experience here the food was not like I remembered it. The best thing I found was the warm German potato salad, everything else was just so so. My biggest disappointment was the apple strudel and vanilla sauce. Hopefully it was just a bad night, and not reoccurring.

No kidding! I just planned a trip five DAYS ago for the first week of April for a party of 6, and with what seemed to be a minimal effort I got what I wanted. I had to stalk Tusker House for a few days, but compared to how it was just a short time ago, booking adrs was a walk in the park...I could have booked Ohana dinner twice if I had wanted to. CRT even popped up once. Every character breakfast except CM has had at least one cancellation I could have snagged.

I've actually done a walk up at CRT for 2. Sometimes you just get lucky!

We have had the same thing happen recently. Not sure if it is that businesses can't just swipe them, or that less people are eating in the parks with price increases, but our last trip Hollywood and Vine was empty, and there were reservations for Le Cellier, CRT, Biergarten, and Akershus all available a week out of our trip.

I hope the Biergarten just had an off night when you were there. My BF loves German food and beer, so we might be spending some extra time there. My DD already said she might not go to dinner with us that night, which will be ok. As for me, I can take the Biergarten or leave it, but b/c I know he really likes it, I will go. I think my favorite part is the apple strudel!! I am not a beer drinker but I can definitely enjoy some wine!!

With all the bad Disney news recently, it's so refreshing to talk about something they're doing right.
