to pay for TS tips?

If we decide to add the dining plan to our next trip, it would be helpful to use the DV rewards card for tips . . . I'm assuming this would be ok and would work just like using a credit to pay for tips since that would be the only thing we owed? (assuming we didn't order off-plan of course).

I also wonder how fast it updates or whether we'd need to keep good track of the remaining rewards balance ourselves.

Yes you can use your reward card. Generally on the bottom of your receipt there will be a balance now whether that is always up to date I don't know.
