Can I use my wife's FPs if she is not in the park but has prebooked FPs?

On our upcoming trip, mywife wants to take a pool day with me then going to Epcot. My thought initially was I would just take her wrist band around and double up on FP rides, But then I thought maybe her wrist band would not work for me because it was never scanned at the front gate.

Has anyone tried to do this before?? What was the result?

It worked for us in April! My husband had to fly down a few days later than us, due to a change in his schedule. I let my son use my husbands Magic Band for extra rides. No problem at all. We have AP's but obviously my husband's Magic Band hadn't been scanned for admission. Enjoy!

Yes, it works. No need to be scanned into the park.

I am not sure it will always work. When using FP+ scanners at the entry to the rides, the CM's can actually pick up your name from your magic band. You will have no problem if one male is using another male's band but crossing the sexes might raise a question if the CM actually checks the name as you are going through.

This has been questioned and discussed since the beginning of use of MBs and FP+.
After over 2 years of experimentation and responses, it is 100% not a problem.

MBs do not need to be scanned in at the park gate in order to work for FP+, pre-booked, or day-of.
