Can i use an extra park day ticket to 'hop'?

Hi, i was wondering since it is cheaper to just buy an extra day base ticket when purchasing a package, can i use it for hopping? For instance, use my day base ticket at Animal Kingdom and then go to DHS and use another day base ticket? Other than going to those 1/2 day parks, we wouldn't be hopping so i don't want to pay to upgrade to park hopper. Wondering if this idea is possible.

as mom2rtk said "no" Disney is wise to this plan and thus you can only use one base ticket per day. If you go to another park you will be turned away at the turnstiles. Remember your tickets are linked via your finger scan

If you decide that you really want to park hop while you are there, you can add/purchase the hopping option at any time within the first 14 days of first use of your ticket.

Its a good thing you asked before going! Lots of people don't and then are very disappointed when they get there and try to use their extra tickets to hop.

Yup been there done that... the worst part is I asked the CM when I booked the trip if we could do this. Second worst part we had to wait in line at Guest Relations for about an hour so someone could tell us what was going on because they couldn't tell us at the turnstile. It was our second trip and I was naive. I think I joined the DIS right after this trip.

We never get same day tickets anymore. There's too much to do than tie ourselves down to one park per day. Park hopper convenience is worth the extra cash. At least for us it is.
