Just curious....I do NOT like to park hop. However, I am trying to find an ADR for BOG on an upcoming trip. I am trying to be as flexible as possible with days to increase my chances so I am thinking I could go for dinner after a day at Animal Kingdom. I would rather not upgrade to park hoppers since this would be the only one of 5 parks days when we would use it. It would be cheaper to just increase our tickets from a 5 day to a 6 day.....will Disney let you use 2 separate tickets at different parks or do you HAVE to buy a park hopper?

No, for the reason that you point out. It would be cheaper to buy a 6 day ticket instead of a 5 day hopper. Disney can do that math. They force you to buy the hopper.

You are asking two different questions...I think.

Yes, if you have two separate tickets (e.g., a 1-day and a 5-day), then you could use one to get into AK and the the other to get into MK.

If you are asking about adding a day to an existing ticket to get into MK, then no, sorry. In order to visit more than one park per day using the same (physical) ticket you need to have the park hopper feature.

You can certainly do this. Just buy a one day ticket if you want, or use a one day ticket you have left over from a previous trip. Just make sure the tickets are actually separate tickets from whatever the rest of your tickets are on.

No...you can't do that. You have to have a park hopper to visit more than one park in one day, even if you have additional ticket days left.

You can use two tickets on one day. You cannot use two days on one ticket.

Not what the OP is asking. You need to go back to Cheshire Figment Ticket School. (Sticky at the top of this board). See post #15. That answers the OP's question.

As for using a day leftover from a previous trip, you must have purchased the "No Expiration" option. But by the time you add that feature on to your ticket, you may as well just upgrade to a Hopper. Now, if by chance one does have a leftover day from a previous trip, and one did remember to buy the "No Expiration" option, then, yes, one could use that leftover day to go to the MK and BoG. But that is a horribly inefficient and expensive way to accomplish the goal.

That's exactly what I understood the OP to be saying. .[buying two separate tickets]

The OP clearly was not contemplating two tickets and was contemplating going from a 5 day pass to a 6 day pass.

I think it's was the part in bold from the OP's post that caused some confusion. Her question indicated two tickets, but lead up indicated one ticket.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just add hopping onto your ticket rather then buying a separate 1 day ticket just to get into a different park?

no you may not. the turnstiles will not let you enter a different park on the same day without PH

The following: "will Disney let you use 2 separate tickets at different parks"

Note, it says "tickets" and not "days"

I worded my original question wrong....I meant to say use 2 days from the same ticket....if that makes sense....either way it is not allowed!

The following: "will Disney let you use 2 separate tickets at different parks"

OK. But the preceding clause causes the word "tickets" in the latter clause to be read as "admissions". In any event, question answered to the satisfaction of the OP, so, it's all moot.

Always lots of confusion by many on the distinction between tickets and days.
