Can I Upgrade to Anual Passes? How?

We booked a Magic Your Way package (without dining) for a stay at the Poly from Apr.30-May 6 with 7-day hopper tickets. Can I upgrade to anual passes? How do we do this? Since making these reservations we have decided to go again in Dec. and also next April so the anual passes would be a good buy if we can upgrade.

Hi Danielle.

You will need to take your Hopper passes to Guest Services -- either at one of the Parks of Downtown Disney -- and they will allow you to exchange your Hoppers for APs -- of course, you will have to pay the difference between your Hoppers and the APs. The date of your AP will be the day you activated your Hopper passes.

We're doing the same thing. We have 10 day hopper passes (I wanted the DDP) but since we're going in January and again next July I'm going to upgrade them on the 10th day to APs. For the five of us it was only a little over $800 to do this and we'll get two trips out of it and also be eligible for any AP discounts on the rooms in Jan. and July.

WHy are you going to wait until the 10th day? An AP gives you a 10% discount at WOD. If you do any shopping you can get that discount. I think you can also get a discount on mini golf.

Not to mention that if you go ahead and upgrade to the AP as soon as possible, then you can sign up for the Disney Dining Expierence card. It cost $60 but, it gives a 20% discount at most of the sit down restuarants and some of the counter service places! It's a great deal and if you eat alot of sit down meals then it will pay for itself in just a few days! If you don't usually eat a lot of sit down meals then, it is a great excuse to try them out! Every time we eat, the total bill after tax and tip and discount, is less than the original total before tip! We still tip 20% of the original bill and still come out less!

You will be so spoiled by having the Annual pass too! It gives you a freedom of, "hey, it's ok if we don't get to ride that ride this time, we'll just ride it next time!" We never wait more than 20 minutes for any ride at any time of the year!

We have always had annual passes so I do know the value. We have DDP so I didn't think I could switch over the AP before then. If I can then I will definitely switch over earlier so we can use the DDE on any out of pocket meals. We used the DDE last year and loved it. Thanks!

DDE card good for 12 months from purchase and covers up to l0 people on ONE restaurant bill.

The way I understand it, you can upgrade as soon as you get to WDW. It will NOT impact your dining plan, but if you wait until the last day you will NOT get credit for the used days toward the cost of your AP. I may have misunderstood, but that is how it was explained.
We are arriving on a Thursday night. We have MYW + Dining with 8 day hoppers. We will upgrade first thing Friday morning and call DDE immediately so we will have the DDE letter of authorization by the time we run out of TS credits. I hope that's how it will go!
