Can I upgrade a package ticket to an annual pass?

I have a MYW package for our Novemer-December trip. It's our first real Disney vacation (though we went to MK for a day earlier this year). If the trip goes really well, and we want to go back next year, will I be allowed to apply the cost of our tickets to annual passes (within 14 days of first use)?

Tickets can be upgraded within 14 days of the first use of the ticket, but you still have to have an entitlement available to do so. So, say you have a 5 day park ticket, you would have to upgrade before the end of the day that you use that 5th entitlement. Also, remember that the AP start date will go back to the day the upgraded ticket was first used.

Examples - 5 Day Park Ticket

• First day use is 11/1/16 and you go five straight days, you would have until the end of day 11/5/16 to upgrade. AP Start date would be 11/1/16.
  
• First day use is 11/1/16 and you take breaks and play to use the last day of your ticket on 11/8/16, you would have until the end of the day on 11/8/16 to upgrade. AP Start date would be 11/1/16.
