Can I transfer my unused park ticket to someone else?

I have a package booked which includes room, tickets and dining plan. Is it possible for someone else to use my ticket? I can't remember if the ticket will be printed with my name on it or not. I am asking because I have a ticket left over from a a previous trip so I don't need the park ticket this time.

Thanks,
mel

Your ticket will be your room key with your name on it.

But, you don't need to show id with your name to get into the parks, right? So if your name is Bob Smith, and your room key says "Bob Smith" and you give it to someone else, what's to stop them from using it, as long as it's never been used before? :confused3

I haven't tried it, but I've seen this asked here before. The previous answer was that as long as the park ticket portion hasn't been activated (i.e. you haven't used it to enter any of the parks) at the end of the trip you can ask to have it transferred to another card without a name on it.

You can also have the one day ticket taken off the room key. I know that I'll be getting that one day, one park pass with my POP pkg in Dec. I have an AP, and have usually just used it towards my AP renewal. But this year my daughter-in-law is coming over to spend a day with me and she doesn't have a ticket..so I'm giving her my one day park pass to use.

Unused tickets are 100% transferable and never expire. The person you transfer the ticket to can use your old KTTW card, or you can have the ticket separated from the card and issued as a normal ticket.

Unless it has changed kids tickets can be transfered even it activated.

Kids' tickets have always also been nontransferable once used and that is still true. They may, however continue to be used any time during the first user's life provided that the ticket itself hasn't expired say due to lack of non-expiration. Should a turnstile CM take notice, the original user past the age of 9 may exchange the partially used ticket for an adult ticket at no charge.

If you are given a room key with (totally) unused regular (Magic Your Way)admission and someone else's name on it, write your own name on a blank area of the card just as you are encouraged to sign brand new tickets you got from the ticket booths.

Although unused tickets are fully transferable, there can be a problem if a ticket is transferred with a person's name already on the ticket. Let's say for some reason once the new person uses the ticket and they are tied to the ticket via the ticket scan there should be a problem and a subsequent scan does not work for some reason. The ticket holder will then be asked for some identification to tie them to the ticket.

You don't have to wait until the end of the trip to have the ticket removed from your KTTW card. I have an AP, but had a package with a MYW ticket tied to it. Knowing me, I was afraid that if I kept the ticket on my KTTW card, I'd use it inadvertently and start the expiration period. I asked the concierge at my hotel to take it off my KTTW card. They did, and handed me a card that looked like a KTTW card, but just listed the ticket information, and had no name on it. My d had no problem using it (since it was unused; now it's tied to her).

Does the ticket holder have to show picture identification?

Depends. If the ticket is tied to another user already by finger scan and someone else tries to use the ticket, yes, id would have to be shown and you would be denied entrance.

In order to transfer or cancel an unused ticket, more than likely photo id would have to be shown to prove you were the original person the ticket was issued too.

I see. :surfweb:

Once again, Disney is the winner!! :worship:

I will not go into some of our security procedures. But if a person has a used ticket and we cannot get the finger scan to work, there are several questions we can ask related to the ticket. Or, if the ticket has a name on it we can ask for a photo ID with the same name.

I have confiscated tickets which did not belong to the user. Generally someone from Security would escort them to a ticket window so they could purchase tickets legally, or they would be asked to leave.

We were at WDW in Sept. With the free dining we had to get 1 ticket each (4 of us). We have AP's so didn't use the ticket. We didn't even think to have them removed from our KTTW card which was only used for room entry so we should still have them even tho 1 of us has lost their KTTW card. Going back in Nov, same scenario but will have another child with us. We will have his 1 day ticket which we were going to upgrade for the days we are there, but could we possibly have the unused tickets transferred to him as he has no AP? If not we'll just use them after our AP's expire.

However, none of those really address what I want to do. If I have the one day, one park pass, that comes as part of my pkg, am I better off removing it from my room key before giving it to my daughter-in-law?? I would imagine that it might work out best all the way around if she has a completely different park pass...rather than my room key.

It seems that since you will need your room key, it would make since to have the ticket removed from your room key and placed on another card.
Enjoy your trip:)

1. If you lost a card down there then there is the chance someone else picked it up and used the ticket admission.
2. For a vacation more than 3 days in the theme parks it is more cost effective to upgrade one ticket card instead of use four one day ticket cards.

Thanks this is probably what we will do as he will need 6 days of tickets, and we'll just use our xtra later.
