Can I stretch my six day hopper plus to eight or nine days?

I bought the book WALT DISNEY WORLD FOR COUPLES 2002-2003 With or Without Kids by Rick and Gayle Perlmutter. On page 19 under Money Saving Tips, it states the following, "Stretch a five-day hopper pass to seven days by using each " PlUS VISIT" for a one-day admission to one of the water parks.

I don't think this is correct. I have bought a six day hopper PLUS ticket and assume the "plus" (i.e. a trip to a water park or Pleasure Island) would count as one of the six days. Could you clarify for me if I could really stretch those 5 days to 7 or 5 days to 8 days?

A six day Park Hopper -plus can easily stretch into eight or nine days.

The "six day" represents the number of days of admission to the four major parks. Mixed in there, you'll want to use your pluses for water parks, or spend days relaxing at the hotel or at Downtown Disney.

Nope, the book is correct.

The 6 day pass with three plus options will allow for 6 full days of entry into the 4 main theme parks (and park hopping between them) and the three plus options will allow for a days admission to Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Wide World of Sports complex. There is no park hopping allowed on the PLUS options (i.e. If you go to Typhoon Lagoon during the day and hit Pleasure Island that night, it will cost 2 PLUS options.)

Both the 6 theme park days and the 3 plus options are good forever (no expiration date).

Hope that helps,

Also if you want to stretch your hopper make sure you don't go to a waterpark on a major park day. Save the pluses (waterparks) for later in the week when your park days are used up.

So if we get 5 day ph plus passes, we can go to the major parks for 5 days plus go to the water parks, etc. the other 3 or 4 days of our vacation?

Keep in mind that if you go to one of the main parks (MK, Epcot, MGM, AK) AND use a plus option (BB, TL, PI) on the same day you will have used one of your park days and one of your plus days.

Essentially you are correct, but keep an eye on the number of PLUS options included with your park hopper. I believe that the 5 day park hoppers normally have 2 plus options. Thus, if you want to maximize the pass, you can use it for 5 days at the 4 main parks and then have 2 visits to Pleasure Island, Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.

But, as others have said, if on any single day to go to a theme park AND a plus park, you've essentially double used your pass. If you went to MK and BB on the same day, you get "charged" for one HOPPER day and one PLUS option.

Also, the PLUS options do not allow hopping among the different parks that are categorized as PLUS. In other words, if you go to Blizzard Beach in the daytime and Pleasure Island at night, you will have used BOTH of your PLUS options.

I knew that if I used a day at one of the Theme Parks - that would count against the six day hopper plus "count". Where I was confused was, I thought if on a day that I just went to one water parks and did NOT go to a theme park that too would count against "six day hopper plus count also." Now - as I understand it, thanks to you wonderful people out there, - I understand that if I go to a water park one day, and do not go to any theme parks that this will NOT count against the "hopper plus count." So - I am very very happy. The rules change and it is hard to keep up. So - if there is anyone who has any trouble let me know- otherwise I'll go with my current plan/understanding.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think, think is the key word, that I have it figured out!

I'll just add that we usually use our 'plus' visits mid-week. It gives us a rest from the craziness of the parks. Then we have a nice leisurely dinner and early to bed and wake up nicely refreshed.

We do the same thing when we have PHP's. It really works out well. For us, spending every day in the park is just too much.

Also, keep in mind that if you are planning on going into parks 8 days or more you may be better off getting an Annual Pass. That is especially true if you are planning on returning to WDW within the year. :)

also, not sure if they still do it this way or not, but you can't use more than 1 plus option in the same place on different days. Meaning, you can't use 2 pluses for Typhoon Lagoon, you'd have to use 1 for TL and 1 for Blizzard Beach. Or you can't use 2 pluses for 2 nights at Pleasure Island.

One good thing about PI though, is that you can use your plus one night and then when you're exiting Pleasure Island (providing it's before the booths close out front, 1-1:30 AM) if you want to, you can buy another 5 consecutive nights admission for $5. So if you go on a Tuesday, you can buy Wednesday - Sunday nights' admissions for only $5!
