Hi All, I have flown many times, including internationally since 911, and often times I do not check a bag due to the fees, and the fact that I am taking quick trips. My question is, after the problems on Friday, can I still have shoes in my carry on? I am leaving for a cruise in 5 days!! :goodvibes and am not planning on checking a bag, because most of my necessary stuff is in FL already. I will need to pack a pair of formal shoes for myself and a pair of pumps fpr my daughter. Any thoughts or experience this past weekend? Thanks!!

I'm watching the morning shows - and they are saying that they are going thru carry on luggage twice at some airports - and the airlines are not allowing carry ons to go under seats - it all must be stored....

but other than that - you should be good to go on the shoes...

I'm thinking of using lots of ziplock bags - so when they take my stuff out it will come out and go back in easier in ziplock bags... :confused3

DH and I are running the Disney Marathon, and Half - so we will carry on our race gear, and shoes...

I haven't seen anything from the TSA that would place restrictions on passengers from having shoes in their carry-ons.

I think that, at least for the near-term, we should expect more thorough security inspections of carry-ons in general so that may slow things at security stations. But the changes I've seen so far relate to international travellers coming to the U.S. and new in-flight passenger restrictions.

I just flew yesterday and the new rules are being imposed on INTERNATIONAL flights only. I had my tote bag under my seat. The TSA has not changed carryon rules for domestic flights as of now.

First I wonder if they will question me if I have a bowling ball in my carry on... now I have to worry about my bowling shoes in my carry on.... what is next? ;)
