i booked a magic your way pkg. a couple of weeks ago, am i still able to add the dining plan?

You can modify reservations, although depending on how soon your trip is you might incur reservation change fees. If you log into your My Disney Vacation and look at the terms & conditions, it has any such fees on there. I don't think there are any fees as long as your vacation is over 45 days away, or at least that's the way I understood it.

Some people change their ressie's quite often whether it be the DDP or resort, etc.

If you booked through Disney the DDP can be added up to 3 days before check in.

This is correct. I will be in WDW in 10 days and I just added my DDP yesterday (my package was paid off long ago)

Now, there was a little trouble so please use caution. Calculate the cost before you call and have those numbers in front of you. The first CM I spoke with tried to charge me $400+ more than I should have been paying. I knew what he was saying was way off on the calculations but I didn't have it all in front of me and told him that I would call back. I checked the numbers and sure enough there was a large difference. I called back and explained the situation to the next CM and she ran the numbers and came up with a figure $20 higher than the first guy. I got her to agree on the amount that should cost and she found the way to plug in the numbers to make that happen. I think the system was trying to bump me into paying the difference of what that same package with dining would cost me if I booked today--less what I have already paid. I told the CM that I didn't want to be penalized and lose the great rate I had received months ago and paid for just to add the dining package. Anyhow--it all worked out but don't just agree to pay a number and assume it is correct.

If you don't already have ADRs and the trip is soon call for those first to be sure you'll be able to use your TS credits. I will say we LOVED being on the dining plan. I would also say don't be afraid to book a 2TS restaurant. We chose Narcoossee's and it was our best meal of the trip and we enjoyed all of our TS meals (Coral Reef lunch, Boma dinner, Chef Mickey's bfast, H&V dinner for Fantasmic - just OK).

I could see where adding the DDP could mess with your res.
DDP is not just a separate component that is added to a package. It would actually be changing your package from one type to another. And that could mean different rates. And consider not all packages share booking dates, travel dates, etc.

thanks, i was able to book all the ts restaurants but le cellier, but i got coral reef instead. i did talk to one person while making a dining reservation about adding the dining plan even though i already have booked. she said witin 45 days there's usually a hefty charge to change your pkg., however, if you're spending more money it will only be $10 to change to the ddp. i'll know for sure when i call and officially book it though.

We loved Coral Reef and your little one will likely prefer the aquarium to the more adult ambience of LeCellier.

As long as you have a Disney package with room and tickets (not bought separately) you should be fine with adding the DP as long as its outside of 3days. Have a magical trip!
