I am planning my excursions and want to "do the beach" at Castaway Cay :) so I would prefer to take advantage of the ship while others are at Nassau. Is this ok?
I would love to be able to take in a movie, eat leisurely, and just chill out...perhaps even a nap!
What else should I do on the ship while docked at Nassau?
Please advise if this is not a good idea.

You can absolutely stay on the ship when it's docked at a port; in fact, I've read that it is a great time to enjoy the pools, the spas (sometimes?) offer specials, and things are just a bit quieter.

We did a Land/Sea in April and stayed on the ship with a 5-year-old while docked in Nassau. We had a couples massage in the late morning and ate a great lunch in a nearly-empty Tritons. Afterward, we went to the Mickey pool and my daughter didn't have to wait for any of her trips down the water slide! I was lounging and reading on our verandah when everyone came back from Nassau. It was a nice, relaxing day!!

A lot of people stay on board at this port. You will be surprise of the few people that will go ashore. We took a nap on deck 4 during our stay. :sunny:

Sept. will be my 4th cruise this year and each time in Nassau I have stayed onboard. Very relaxing day.

There's really only ONE time that they make you get off of the ship and that's on the last morning of your cruise once it's over:sad:

The only other time that they would make you get off of the ship would be if the ships going down and you need to get into the life boats. 1) we don't even want to think about this and 2) this is the one time you would really want to get off of the ship.

Anyone know how long it's been since everyone was ordered into the lifeboats and into the ocean on a cruise ship? I know that on the Magic several years ago when there was a fire in the real smokestack that DCL was close to giving the "abandon ship" order.
